Richard L. Waldschimdt
Having graduated from college and having gone on to further education, Rick Waldschmidt taught elementary and secondary education for seven years. He then decided to start his own cabinetry business where he employed many persons who were incarcerated.
These guys would be released during the day and returned to prison at night. When they were finally released, many had no place to go. They usually had felonies and addictions.
Rick bought his present house, “The Lighthouse”, with the theme of John 8:12:
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'”
to serve as a haven for those who needed a safe, comfortable, and guiding environment.
The Lighthouse is such a place.
Rick continues his development thinking in providing this type of environment for more men and women.
