Compassion and preservation

Psalm 119:156: “Your compassion is great, O Lord; preserve my life according to your laws.” Compassion is one of the most loving words in the English language.  Compassion is not–have a nice day–compassion is–I will make sure you have a GREAT day.  Those are God’s words to you and me for He has compassion for you and me.  Nothing is greater than the care or compassion that God has for His children–you and me!  Live enjoying His compassion!  You will have a GREAT day!

Perpetual truth

Psalm 119:144 “Your statutes are forever right; give me understanding that I may live.” There is, never has been and never will be a need to rewrite the Bible.  All of its truths endure perpetually.  All of its words, principles and guidance have stood without question for centuries.  Because some have not or do not realize the absolute truths found in Scripture has no effect on their validity.  We praise God for His absolute and perpetual truths.

God’s promises

Psalm 119:140 “Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.” God promised Adam and Eve a Savior.  God promised Abraham and Sarah a child in their old age.  God promised to set a rainbow in the sky as a reminder.  God made kept promises after the Babylonian captivity.  God has made many promises and has kept them all.  God has promised to bring the faithful to Himself in Heaven.  God has promised to be with you and me and He is.  Because of God’s promises you and I live in peace  What a blessing!

Our walk

Psalm 119:133 “Direct my footsteps according to your word, let no sin rule over me.” Notice that in this passage as well as throughout God’s Bible, God never says to worship Him according to what any religious denomination determines.  He wants us to read and study His Word for that is where we will find absolute Truth  None of us will enjoy the comfort He provides while living on this earth or live forever in eternity based on the beliefs and writings of any earthly denomination.  Our contented lives both on this earth and eternally is totally dependent on our personal faith and relationship we enjoy with our Heavenly Father.

A name you love

Psalm 119:132 “Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name.” When you think of a person’s name you immediately think of qualities that are unique to that person.  When you hear or say the name Jesus you think of His great love for all of mankind.  As soon as Adam and Eve sinned the name of Jesus meant an overwhelming love and mercy which can be applied to no other name. What a wonderful name!  Jesus!
