Psalm 119:124 “Deal with your servant according to your love and teach me your decrees.” No matter our age, no matter our education, no matter our experiences, no matter what our life has brought us we are always learning and pray that our Heavenly Father guide and teach us. As soon as we allow our own pride to take over our lives, we become losers. None of us want to become losers so doesn’t it simply make sense to be an adopted child of God and pray for His guidance and teaching?

Psalm 119:117 “Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees.” The first two words of this passage could be our conversation with God every morning or every evening or throughout the day. When we ignore these two words and have any thought of living without our Savior, we ask, at the same time for failure. No one of us wakes up with the thought–I sure hope I fail today. But, that is the thought if we ignore these 2 important words or their thoughts aren’t realized. Be wise–think–Uphold me!

Psalm 119:116 “Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed.” God’s promises are sure and absolute. Our human weakness needs constant reassurance of His promises. The thought of God’s love for us appears about 7500 times in the Bible. Wouldn’t you think once, maybe twice would be enough? He knows our human nature and therefore He has passages like this in His Word to us. We need His constant support and assurance. Thankfully we have it!

Psalm 119:114 “You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” There is not a stronger bond than the bond expressed in this passage. God is the Ultimate source of security. There is no one and nothing who/which can come within miles of providing what our God provides. He wants us to turn to Him as our Savior, our Comforter, our Security, our Hope. Isn’t that a cherished marvel–the God of the universe has a love for you and me that is not equaled by any one and nothing else. How blessed we are! Have a great weekend.

Psalm 119:112 “My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.” Our Psalmist lives with prayer and conviction. He is certainly our example to follow. There is not the thought–I hope I can, or maybe I will, or it’s so hard, or any other excuse. There is solid conviction–I will serve the Lord! His mind was set. You and I should be the same. For how long? You answer.
