Psalm 116:12 “What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me? Our Psalmist asks a very pertinent question. We can’t possibly do for Him what He has done for us. Besides that, there is no need for such. His sacrifice for us is both beyond measure and impossible to comprehend the love His sacrifice displays. The answer to the question is: our loyal faithfulness. That is all our Lord asks and He will even help us with that as we prayerfully ask. What a gracious and wonderfully loving God we joyfully and thankfully serve! Have a great weekend..

Psalm 116:7 “Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” Life on earth can be very difficult, full of anxiety and depression. If you care to, google-what % of the population of the US suffers from anxiety and/or depression. You will find between 20-30%. Then google–what is the solution and you will find various drugs and vitamins. No google suggestion suggests–pray for a faith or a stronger faith. Drugs and vitamins and eating properly are certainly aids to health, both mentally and physically; but what about nutrition for our souls? You and I need this nourishment or we can’t possibly be healthy. Study His Word–rest in God’s arms–trust in Him–your and my soul will breath relief and enjoy living with a calm.

Psalm 116:5 “The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.” Patient, understanding, empathetic, forgiving, upright, holy, just, loving, gentle, tender are only a few words which aptly describe our God. That is the best friend we could possibly have. Can all of us learn from our Almighty God? And He is with us through all eternity. Would you call yourself blessed?

Psalm116:2 “Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.” It is impossible for our God to be more loving, caring, thoughtful, comforting, concerned and whatever adjectives/verbs or descriptive words we can imagine describing His being our God and we being His adopted children. There is no greater love that the love He has for you and me. That love results in the second half of this verse. Again, how blessed we are.

Psalm 116:1 “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.” Without faith all of life is hopeless and meaningless and purposeless. With faith life becomes full of hope, takes on meaning which lasts throughout eternity and gives every faith filled person a joyful purpose. God’s promises are real. We live our lives as one with God. He listens to every word you or I say–either out loud or silently. We couldn’t worship a more caring and loving God.
