Don’t expect perfect living on earth

Psalm 119:86 “All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for I am being persecuted without cause.” Wouldn’t it seem that the best and most obedient Christians would suffer the least?  Obey, follow God’s Word, study His truths, act as His precious child always and life on earth will be Heaven on earth.  The truth is: our thinking is not God’s thinking.  In God’s thinking suffering results in glorious hope.  As a Christian expect abuse and suffering.  All of Jesus’ disciples did (the eleven) and we can learn from them.

Where is your faith?

Psalm 119:81 “My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.: True living means walking with your Savior at your side.  Jesus gives you both purpose and comfort while you experience all the trials of this world. Remove that purpose and comfort and all hope is lost.  Life becomes a temporary series of temporary pleasures and fulfillment never happens.  Addiction to the pleasures of this world is meaningless while an addiction to our Savior and His Word gives us eternal life and a hope with phenomenal rewards.  We praise our loving Savior.

True comfort

Psalm 119:76 “May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.” Unfailing love-comfort-promise=3 words which make our lives complete.  With these 3 words we live lives of joy and peace.  To know God, to have a tight relationship with Him, to be His child is the best position one could possibly be in.  We can only thank Him with all of our heart.

You can’t be serious

Psalm 119:73 “Your hands made me and formed me’ give me understanding to learn you commands.” Most people would say every human began when a sperm and egg met and the female became pregnant.  God does say, well, that’s true, but do you know what else happened?  I formed you. Faith accepts and loves that truth.  That truth makes you formed with purpose and love.  What an honor and marvel it is to be a child of God.  Amazing–you were formed by God!  That truth certainly makes you special-God formed you in your mother’s womb.  Really?  Yes, really!

How valuable is the Word?

Psalm 119:72 “The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.” How valuable is your retirement account?  Well, without it, how would I survive you might ask.  How valuable is God’s Word to you?  Well, without it, how would I survive you might ask.  One question concerns Earthly, temporal living while the second questions concerns Heavenly, eternal living.  Both questions are important, however; one of these questions is by far more valuable than the other.  Which is it?  Your heart daily is answering the question. Have a great weekend.
