Psalm 119:19 “I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.” Many consider life on earth the epitome of existence. Earth is where everything happens. Life on earth is all there is so make the most pleasure possible. Even as Christians we fall for this kind of thinking and forget to ask–what is God’s purpose for our life on this earth–and live according to that purpose. Keep always in our mind–Heaven is our Home; our future looks fantastic!

Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Two people can see the same thing and come to opposite conclusions. For example: Some see the Bible as an interesting psychology book while others see the Bible as God’s Word of absolute truth and His Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. That is not only HUGE in different thinking, it is eternal life threatening or eternal life saving. This prayer of our Psalmist is of utmost importance. Have a great weekend.

Psalm 119:16 “I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.” This passage is quite all inclusive. Not only will we enjoy His Word, we will also enjoy studying His Word. Do you find yourself enjoying the time you spend reading the Bible? Enjoying the time you go to church? Enjoying certain on line presentations? Enjoying the time you meet with others and discussing the meaning of certain Scriptures? What a pleasure it is to learn more about our Almighty God.

Psalm 119:12 “Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees.” Have you, in your prayers, ever said to God–don’t bother teaching me because I know everything! Only a fool would even think such a thought. Our prayer is rather–teach me because I know almost nothing! All of us humbly ask God to teach us as we humbly listen, learn and apply. Studying His Word is just what we as His faithful children do.

Psalm 119:10 “I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.” Every morning and all day long we have to have the thought of this verse on our lips. Without that constant thought we certainly will leave our Heavenly Father and that is the last thing we would ever want to do. Notice the word “all” in this verse. We want to be controlled by our Savior always. That is our prayer for today.
