God is great!

Psalm 145:3 “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” Googolplex is the largest number known to man.  That number is beyond our ability to understand.  Million, Billion, Trillion, and Quadrillion are too large for our minds to understand.  Maybe million, maybe billion, maybe trillion but very unlikely, but not quadrillion.  To God these numbers are tiny.  When you or I talk (pray) to God we do not realize abilities, wisdom, strength or love that He is.  That God cares for each of us.  A blessing beyond comprehension.

Praise God

Psalm 145:1 “I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.” It is difficult to form words which describe God.  You and I can only think human.  God is far above human, yet His care for each of us is beyond belief.  We exalt and praise Him for we can do nothing else.  God is God.  For Him to send His Son for us is beyond our understanding.  We must praise our God.  David had to feel the same.  What an honor we enjoy!

How long is life?

Psalm 144:4 “Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.” Compared to eternity life is short.  How short?  Google says an average person takes 20,000 breaths/day.  Our Psalmist compares a lifetime to a breath.  That is an extremely short period of time.  Eternity is just the opposite.  Is there any reason to enjoy earthly pleasures and ignore eternal consequences?  We all spend so, so much time gathering a “fortune” not realizing the fabulous fortune our Savior is preparing for us that never ends.  Sometimes—what are you and I thinking? Have a great weekend.

Why does God care?

Psalm 144:3 “O Lord, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?” David’s humility is dominating his thinking.  Your and my humility has to dominate our thinking.  We have to be so thankful that our God’s unfailing love dominates His thinking and actions.  To be His adopted children is a blessing far beyond our wildest dreams.  That thought alone is a blessing none of us will ever understand.  Our Heavenly Father’s love is wonderful and real.  What more can we say?

My loving God

Psalm 144:2 “He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.” David cannot write enough about the God of the Universe, his personal Savior, his everything which is good.  He relies on his God, places his full confidence in Him and enjoys the total security his Heavenly Father freely and lovingly gives to him.  What a wonderful relationship David has with God.  Aren’t you and I the same?  How blessed we are!
