Christian attitude

II Corinthians 8:21 “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.” How can you and I care what God thinks without caring about the concerns of His creations made in His image?  We have bracelets which have the initials WWJD, implying we actively care about the mindset of our Creator, what about the well being of His creation from conception through natural life?  Paul urges us to be consistent–caring about both God and man.

Rich to poor–poor to rich

II Corinthians 8:9 “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” We all place too much emphasis on earthly assets.  Millionaires, billionaires, those living in wealth are almost always considered the lucky ones; whereas, we also know wealth is very short lived and never of itself generates either happiness, a good life or satisfaction and peace.  Jesus has given each of us wealth beyond measure which will last into eternity.  Never let earthly wealth influence you.  Be impressed with the free wealth given by your Savior. We have 2 prayer requests. I have a prayer request please. Please pray for an organization called On Our Own. It’s an organization that has several houses in St. Paul in which people with disabilities live and receive some help. I have a friend who lives  in one of the houses and they have bed bugs they have been unable to get rid of for several months. Poor guy gets bit many times every night. Please pray...

Where is our concentration?

II Corinthians 7:1 “Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” God has made–out of this world–promises to each of us.  God could not be more loving to each of us.  Our God is beyond wonderful–so much so that our minds cannot comprehend His loving concern for each of us.  Each of us knows what I just wrote.  Therefore, isn’t it a strong desire on your and my part to show our God our sincere appreciation by living our lives as His dear children?

Amazing!

II Corinthians 6:18 “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” You and I are God’s child.  How does that statement affect and effect your life?  The truth of the statement has to make each of us marvel–that has to be the affect and the way we act as the result of the statement has to have a tremendous effect on our actions and life.  Being God’s child–that is phenomenal!

Unique-you are

II Corinthians 6:16b “…For we are the temple of the living God…” What wonder of the world is this passage?  God lives within you.  That true statement is undoubtedly one of the most controversial statements you will ever hear.  But, doubt and controversy are hardly foreign to Christianity.   Both the security and responsibility this statement carries with it is huge.  It is beyond an honor to have God living within you and me.  Realizing this honor we are both humbled and exhilarated.  We again thank and praise our Heavenly Father.
