The promise of Jesus

Ephesians 3:6 “This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” The most important and profound promise ever made we are in the midst of celebrating.  That is, God’s promise to send a Savior into the world for all of mankind.  Everyone on the face of the earth has been given this important and profound promise.  Obviously, not everyone accepts and enjoys the most love promise ever made—that is a sad truth.  The true meaning of Christmas celebrates our God’s fulfilled promise.  Therefore, you and I celebrate and rejoice that we have become heirs and inherit all the wonders our God offers.  Again, thank you, God! Have a wonderful Christmas celebration!

The Spirit within

Ephesians 2:22 “And in him (Jesus Christ) you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” Dwell on the thought-the Holy Spirit lives inside you.  God lives within you.  Comprehend the miracle.  That truth obligates you and me to live a life knowing His presence is with us and He is a very welcome guest.  When you are down or depressed you are never alone.  How can you be?  God dwells within you.  Again, Thank you, Jesus!

Kind of an exclusive club

Ephesians 2:19 “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.” Imagine, you are a child of God.  Imagine, you are a member of God’s family.  Imagine, you have a Father in Heaven.  Imagine, you have a smile on your face because you are so blessed.  BUT, you do not have to imagine—-This is all wonderful reality.  You are His child, His family member, He is your Father and the smile in your heart and on your face is real!  You could not be more blessed!

Hard to comprehend

Ephesians 1:4 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” How long have you known God?  As a child?  As an adult?  How long has God known you?  When you were born?  When you knew Him?  NO!  God knew you before He created this world.  He knew you!  He loved you!  He made you His!  When you or I state our God is magnificent  we don’t really comprehend what we are saying.  Another incomprehensible–God sent His Son to earth–we call it Christmas–our God is magnificent!

When to boast

Galatians 6:14 “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” In the psychology of mankind a positive self image is essential for a well rounded person.  That self image can make the difference between happiness and depression.  There is a huge difference between a positive self image and a boastful personality.  The first is healthy while the second is detrimental.  If you must boast, only boast about the love and sacrifice of your Savior.  That boasting is essential for all Christians to enjoy.
