Be careful–be wise

Ephesians5:15-17 “Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” A friend of mine just text me that her aunt just died of alcoholism.  261 people in the U.S. die daily from alcohol abuse.  If you suffer, get help.  If you know of someone who suffers–help them.  Help them help themselves–nothing good comes from alcoholism.  This passage speaks directly to this issue.  Please pray for my friend and her family.

be unique

Ephesians 5:1-2 “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Try and comprehend this: you are a dearly loved child of God.  Because you are that child and enjoy the pleasure and thrill of being that child, which without question, you are, show that love to others.  Dwell on the thought–let it sink in.

An example to follow

Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” You and I, as Christians and disciples/children/heirs of our Heavenly Father, welcome the privilege of living our lives with our Savior as our example to follow.  Daily we are confronted with a problem involving a relationship and we must make a decision based on–what would my Savior do?   The decision/s then are based on the firmest foundation of thought. Have a great weekend.

Important and strong words

Ephesians 4:22-24 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Each of us lives with 2 choices:  1. live as a child of God or 2. live like a child of the world.  There is no–sometimes #1 and sometimes #2.  Which am I?  Which are you?  Hopefully we both answer–#1.

R u ever drawn?

Ephesians 4:14 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. There is but one place to find absolute truth.  If you place your faith and your eternity in that pearl of truth statement, you walk on rock solid ground.  God’s Word is that source and absolutely beautiful pearl of absolute truth.  All other attempts of understandings are built on sand which the tide can easily, though very gently, completely destroy.  The sand beaches in Naples, Florida have to be rebuilt every 5 years.  New sand is brought onto the beaches from an area about 15 miles inland.  This last year I watched this all happen.  God’s beach never erodes.  Thankfully, you and I live on God’s beautiful beach.
