Crave sweetness

Proverbs 22:14 “Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” Have you ever tasted honey directly from a honeycomb?  The honey is deliciously sweet.  That is exactly what our author is telling us in regard to wisdom.  Wisdom is precious-sweet-for the soul.  Two precious intangibles–wisdom and the soul.  Though intangible, continually seek wisdom for it gives your being-your soul-precious life and confidence for your salvation.

Advantages of being wise and knowledgeable

Proverbs 24:5 “A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength.” Throughout Proverbs God’s advice to His children–that is you and me–is to have a close and secure relationship with Him.  When that relationship thrives so will peace, security and comfort.  All of us–always pray for wisdom, knowledge and a handheld tight loving connection with our Dear Father.

Building a Great house

Proverbs 24:3-4 “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” You and I are blessed beyond measure as we realize our Savior is at the core of our lives.  Without Him, though judged seemingly all is fine, nothing is fine.  Life is led like an epicurean and death will be the saddest.  We, knowing and wanting a tight relationship with our Heavenly Father, continually pray for lives of wisdom so our lives on this earth and eternally will be filled with rare and beautiful treasures.  Thank God for your priceless gifts.

Proud parents of proud children

Proverbs 23:24 “The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him.” Who of us took a course in parenting; however, no parent is excused from A+ parenting.  Where then do parents gain parenting skills?  Answer: from their parents-either they learn what to do or what not to do.  When one parents with intended wisdom and includes the Greatest Teacher, odds are–pride (though not always, we still live in the world) of their children will be the result.  Righteous children make joyful parents. Have a great weekend.

Interesting purchase

Proverbs 23:23 “Buy the truth and do not sell it, get wisdom, discipline and understanding.” It is common for real estate investors to buy a property, fix it up and sell it.  That is referred to as flipping a property.  Solomon could have written–when you get or buy truth, don’t ever get rid of it–as a matter of fact, he did write that.  And he wisely also wrote–do the same for wisdom, discipline and understanding.  Search for these 4 pieces, make them a part of your personal portfolio and never let go.
