serious truth

John 3:18 “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” The difference in believing that Jesus is the Son of God and not believing that Jesus is the Son of God could not be greater.  The general opinion of our present culture is foolishness.  The thought is: it doesn’t matter what one believes–all are ok, maybe Jesus matters and maybe He doesn’t.  That thinking, though held by many, is absolutely false.  Jesus is our Hope.  Jesus is our Savior.  Jesus is our Strength.  Jesus is God’s one and only Son, the Savior of the world.  A very serious truth.

Why?

John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” The sole purpose of Jesus coming to this earth was to benefit you.  He knew His Heavenly Father demanded perfection and He wanted you to come before His Father in a suit of perfection.  None of us could represent ourselves.  We needed  an advocate.  God, Jesus, is our advocate.  It is impossible to be more blessed.  A forgiven, blessed, adopted child of God.  That is what you are.  Enjoy your great life! Have a great weekend.

The most popular verse

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This passage is the basis of Christianity.  It is written for all the world to read yet much of the world ignores its life saving truth.  You and I have heard many times—life is short, eternity is long.  Why would anyone ignore the future for the short pleasures of the present?  Believe.  Teach this wonderful truth to your children and grandchildren.

He knows

John 2:25 “He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.” Jesus knows each of us.  He knows our thoughts.  He knows our actions.  He knows our hearts.  You and I at times make Him very happy.  You and I at times make Him very sad.  Jesus needs no help in knowing exactly who we are.  We need our Savior’s help to be the adopted child He wants each of us to be.  We each pray that in all our activities we are that child.

Believe and be saved

John 2:23b “…Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.” The disciples lived with their Savior.  They heard Jesus’ words and saw His miracles.  Yet one of them, even though he walked with God never understood God.  The other 11 disciples did not understand all that Jesus was saying.  You and I have to be in a constant state of studying God’s Word to continually learn and understand the wisdom God would have us know.  Then we pray we live what we learn.
