The mouth can be worthless or worth while

Proverbs 10:11 “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.” We all have a mouth and therefore have the ability to use it for wisdom or for wickedness.  All of us are constantly making that choice, but we are also creatures of habit and therefore we all have to ask—-what is my habit?  Is my habit to think and express wisdom and righteousness or….?   We pray God gives us a mouth of continual honor. Have a great weekend.

Integrity is very important

Proverbs 10:9 “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” Each of us has the ability to fool others some of the time.  A modern term is manipulation.  Wisdom never involves exploiting others.  When one tries to deceive another there is always a loss of integrity.  On the other hand, when a person constantly prays for wisdom and tries to instill that thinking in others, a much more enjoyable life results and trustful relations are the result.

Laziness vs Diligence

Proverbs 10:4 “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. Could anything be more obvious?  Yet, out of a population of approximately 333 million in the United States, 65 million are receiving welfare payments.  That figure is astronomical.   That is roughly 20% of our population–with approx. 1.2 trillion dollars annually going to welfare programs.  Some welfare is essential, however; most results from the statement of this passage.  On the other side of the coin, honest work and effort bring abundant blessings.

Bring joy or bring grief

Proverbs 10:1 “A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.” Children make parents proud or make them sad.  We all have to ask—what kind of child am I?  We have to ask that question whether we are a child or are an adult.  Regardless of our stage in life—are we portraying the faithful wisdom our Heavenly Father would have us display?  If we are—we are making our parents proud.  We pray we are making all of our parents proud.

Arrogance and wisdom

Proverbs 9:12 “If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.” Humility and wisdom walk side by side.  The two will absolutely guarantee a blessed and therefore successful life.  Arrogance and self righteousness are also traits that love each other.  Though common companions they guarantee a lonely and very poor quality of life and a future of sadness.  Choose humility and wisdom while praying for God’s blessings.
