Proverbs 14:29 “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick tempered displays folly.” Our greatest Teacher could easily rid the world of those who deny Him, question Him, place others above Him, or ignore Him. Yet, He teaches you and me patience by allowing time for all to come to know Him. If God practices patience, wisdom certainly dictates we follow His example.

Proverbs 14:27 “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.” Our lives are full of activities. Our schedules are bursting. Our weekdays, our evenings, our weekends, rarely allow time for the one activity we all need. How much of our lives do we concentrate on the one activity which is the most important time of our lives? How much time do we devote to our Savior? If we truly believe our God is our everything, our life, certainly we should devote time to Him.

Proverbs 14:26 “Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge.” God fearing parents provide much more that a house and meals for their children. God fearing parents provide a security, a contentedness, a relationship with God which lasts not only through this life but for all eternity. What a blessing parents can provide.

Proverbs 12:27 “The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.” The Proverbs are so enjoyable to read and enjoy because they have an abundance of wealth in each passage. This passage expresses such simplicity yet its content is ignored by so many. Wealth or enjoyable life in America is experienced by relatively few, yet it is available to all. Why? Solomon word—lazy. Proverbs 12:26 “The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” God, through the Proverbs, repeats Himself multiple times with the intent that we understand the importance of His thought. Our choices determine who we are. An extremely important choice is who we choose as friends. If our best friend is a bottle our life will certainly be confusion, desperation and hopelessness. If our best friend is our Savior, nothing could be better and our life will be filled with contentedness, peace and everlasting wonder. You and I make the choice.
