Proverbs 12:25 “Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Depression and anxiety are two emotions which ruin a person’s ability to accomplish successful living as God intends. These two detrimental emotions are the result of a lack of encouragement from parents, family, friends or those one comes in contact with. You and I should realize our every action and words have an affect on others and we want that affect to encourage.

Proverbs 12:22 “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” Detests and delights–two opposite emotions. Our God hates one and loves the other. The same is true of our God’s faithful and faith-filled followers. You and I should make every effort to always have a reputation as a trustworthy, loved and adopted child of our Heavenly Father.

Proverbs 12:15 “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advise.” A conversation with a wise person involves much more listening than speaking. A conversation with a person who lacks wisdom is like watching the grass grow—not much is gained and time is wasted. One conversation is very valuable and one conversation is valueless. Enjoy gaining wisdom.

Proverbs 12:14 “From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.” A faith filled Christian has both an attitude of helping and a desire of serving. From thoughts to actively helping others there is a natural desire of service to both God and man. This service is not produced because of a desire for receiving a prize or earning some reward, but the end result is both service accomplished and blessings from our Heavenly Father. Have a great weekend.

Proverbs 12:12 “The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers, but the root of the righteous endures.” I am sure you have heard the thought—you are what you eat. Have you heard the expression—-you are the company you keep. Both statements contain wisdom. Take some time and think—what do I eat? and what company do I keep? The answer to those two questions will tell you much about yourself and what you might want to keep and what you might want to change.
