Proverbs 16:2 “All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.” Is personal gain without hurting anyone else the reason for most of your/my activities or is our motivation for living our daily lives to serve our precious Savior? Our God cares much more as to why we do what we do rather than the world would praise us for what we accomplish.

Proverbs 15:33 “Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.” It is impossible to be wise and not have a strong relationship with our Heavenly Father. God is at the center of our life. God, family, country is not just a pleasant series of words, it is the truth in prioritized relationships: it is the essence of living a successful life. Many place self first–that is a fatal mistake. Let’s none of us make that common fatal mistake.

Proverbs 15:32 “Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.” Without an attitude of discipline, one’s attitude to themselves can only produce failure. At first that statement seems incorrect but without discipline in work, athletics, business development, rising children or whatever a person is responsible for improving, chaos and therefore failure is guaranteed. Wise discipline is an essential ingredient of success in a faith-filled life.

Proverbs 15:31 “Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise.” Correction, wise discussion, hanging out with faith-filled Christians are all a part of living and helping others live a successful life. Successful living means living wisely in all we do.

Proverbs 15:29 “The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Does God really hear you and me when we talk (pray) to Him or are we thinking/expressing words which are meaningless. God assures us He hears us. Why then doesn’t He answer exactly as we request? I wish I could answer that question for both myself and you or you could answer for me. All we, as faithful/righteous believers know is He walks by our side, hears us, understands us and then does the best for each of us. In eternity, when we talk to Him we will finally understand. Have a great weekend.
