Plans and goals

Proverbs 21:5 “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. Impetuousness leads to failure.  Careful plans or goal setting with commitment leads to success.  Never walking alone, never thinking alone, never planning alone will avoid the normal chaos and drama of life on earth.  Can the heartaches of life be eliminated?  Unfortunately not.  Fortunately, our Father is constantly our guide who always keeps us safe and secure.  Nothing is better on this earth than living in security.

The outside vs. the inside

Proverbs 21:3 “To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” The short phrase—Attitude is everything—defines this passage.  That is what even God cares about.  Outward show might impress human nature but it is destructive to a caring heart of love.  You and I faithfully give our Savior our heart as we strive to honor Him with our thoughts, words and actions.  Our heart is all He wants—He owns everything else.

Intentional faith

Proverbs 21:2 “A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” Why do you or I do what we do?  Why is the key word.  Are we living and doing whatever we do with our talents to please and better ourselves?  Or are we living and doing whatever we do with our talents to serve Him and mankind?  You and I should never do anything that either hurts His kingdom or our fellow man.  Our intent should always operate with an upright heart and clear conscience.

Who you are

Proverbs 20:27 “The human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one’s inmost being.” Jesus is the Light of the world.  He sheds his Light of Truth on you and me.  You and I in turn reflect His Light as we live both displaying and expressing the Light reflected off of each of us.  We credit the Holy Spirit who lives within every Christian with igniting that glow as we faithfully follow Him because He first loved us and gave Himself for each of us to live in the comfort and peace only He can provide.

Never try to get even

Proverbs 20:22 “Do not say, ‘I’ll pay you back for this wrong!”  Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.” Several times within Scripture God tells every Christian to never seek revenge–Let Him handle whatever the punishment will be.  When you or I think we have a right to get back we find ourselves guilty of doing something we should not do and we will have a guilty conscience.  God has established Himself as the Righteous Judge and no one else.   Please pray for Chuck who learned he has prostate cancer and knows he needs God’s healing hand and he has to fear nothing as he can rest in peace in the arms of His Faithful Savior. Have a great weekend.
