Define humility

Proverbs 22:4 “Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.” Fearing God is a wonderful mindset.  In this case fear does not mean to be afraid of or to violently tremble at the thought of God.  Just the opposite—fear means to most lovingly respect, honor and hold our Father in a high degree of esteem.  You and I need to place God far above ourselves as we need Him much more than He needs us; however, His desire to bless you and me is of ultra importance to Him.  What a phenomenal God we honor.

Who creates life?

Proverbs 22:2 “Rich and poor have this in common; The Lord is the Maker of them all.” God is not only the Creator of the massive universe, He is also the Creator of each of us and all other people and creatures that not only walk this earth but live in the sea and fly in the air.  It is very hard–actually impossible, to understand the power God has.  Yet, some are foolish enough to think and say He doesn’t even exist.  If not God then ?????  Faith is a much easier truth explanation.

Your reputation

Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” Wealth, a great body, educational degrees or a position of power are sought after by many.  There is nothing wrong with having any of these traits.  God would have us know that He blesses us with all of the preceding, but our reputation is far greater than all.  All of us should imbed this passage in our hearts so we live lives which please our Heavenly Father.

Man vs. God

Proverbs 21:30 “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.” There is no shortage of both men and women who live thinking they have a similar authority or maybe even a higher power than the God of the universe.  How anyone can assume such reasoning is beyond absurd.  Fallible man can never even approach the massive superlative power of our Heavenly Father.  We praise our Almighty God.

Two ways of thinking

Proverbs 21:26 “All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing.” More is a usual answer to the question–how much $ and benefits do you want along with the # of toys in the garage.  Unions, vendors, manufacturers, landowners, almost all individuals answer the question with the same word–more.  The other answer to the question is another question–I want to give more to those in need and help where help is appreciated.  One answer looks inwardly-to oneself, the other looks outwardly to others.  Which category is each of us in?  Solomon has advise. Have a great weekend.
