Hope

I Timothy 4:10 “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and especially of those who believe.” Every Christian has a confidence that is as strong as strong gets.  Another word for that confidence is hope–an attitude of total reliance on the truths as exposed in Scripture and implanted in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.  As humans, weakness and doubt want to appear; however, as blood bought adopted children of our God confidence and hope reign supreme.

One God and one Savior

I Timothy 2:5-6a “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people…” Jesus is our Mediator.  Jesus is our Advocate.  Jesus is our Savior.  Jesus is our Comforter.  Jesus is our Redeemer.  Jesus is our Teacher.  Jesus is our Sacrificial Lamb.  Jesus is our Creator.  Jesus is our Best Friend.  You and I cannot live without our Jesus.

What God wants

I Timothy 1:17 “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” Our God wants all people to be living with him, to be faith-filled and to know Jesus is their Savior.  Man has a free will.  Many people choose to believe other than what God desires.  That sad truth produces the world we live in.  Praise God that your will aligns with His will and therefore your life on this earth and future life in Heaven could not be better.

Paul teaches Timothy

I Timothy 1:17 “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen” In the world of addiction, the term –higher being– is often used.  Implying, whoever you see as whatever to worship is ok.  Our inspired author, Paul, couldn’t be more against such mistaken thinking.  Not only in the world of recovering from addiction, but in the world in general there is a thought of –religions are all ok, just choose one and let’s be happy as we live together.  Paul, being inspired, defines the One and Only God of the Universe.  Man doesn’t define God.  God defines Himself.

A sincere blessing

II Thessalonians 3:18 “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” We have all given and received gifts.  Some gifts are small and some are large.  No matter the size, they are all appreciated because they are given by a loving heart and received by a loving heart.  There is no greater gift, no other gift which lasts into eternity and no other gift which contains greater love than the gift of grace from our Lord and Savior.  Is it possible that is what the fireworks are all about tomorrow night?  It is great to live in America, but it is far greater to be blessed with grace given by our Jesus–thank You–let’s celebrate.
