A Psalm of praise

Psalm 29:2 “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.” We end the week with our hearts and minds giving glory to God.  We spend the weekend with the same thought, and we will begin next week with the same thought.  Is there ever a time when we don’t give glory to God?  There is never a time.  We constantly give praise and honor and glory to our majestic God! Have a great weekend.

Glory to God

Psalm 19:1 ‘Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.” Can you and I do anything other than praise God for His majesty.  What a privilege it is that the Almighty God would even recognize us, much less, love and adopt us as His children and bring us to Himself eternally in Heaven.  We can never thank and praise Him enough!

A prayer with depth

Psalm 28:9 “Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.” Just as you and I talk to our Heavenly Father, so David talked to God.  David never questioned the authority and power, yet the tenderness and love traits of His and our Almighty God.  David knew all his blessings and even his kingship were gifts.  Did David ever abuse his authority–yes.  Do you and I at times not realize the gifts we have are freely given us by our Savior—yes, unfortunately.  Praise God as He carries us in His arms as His dearly loved children.

Strength is ultra important

Psalm 28:8 “The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.” To be brave, to have a courageous mentality, to be secure in life, to have peace and comfort in our faith are all a result of our God and His love for each of us.  Is there anything more valuable?  Education, assets or anything of this world pales in comparison.  Thank God continually for the wonderful security He provides.

Praise our Lord

Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.  My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” David helps each of us as we define our attitude toward our God: strength, shield, trust, help, joy, praise.   When you and I combine all of these qualities we have a faithful Christian worshiping a faithful God.  We pray that God always gives us the solid strength of faith to never falter in weakness and to always be strong and steadfast.
