Confidence

Psalm 27:13 ” I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” God is good.  God knows what is best.  When man’s sinfulness erupts he often blames God and therefore accuses God for the bad that happens in this world.  But, how can God be blamed for man’s imperfections?  God is love.  God is perfect.  All that is good is from God.  Thank you, God. Have a great weekend.

Difficulties

Psalm 27:5 “For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” Whether you or I realize it or not, every faithful believer will experience two arenas of life–good times and not so good times.  At all times we are surrounded by the love and protection of our Heavenly Father.  The magnificence of God is our constant protection and security.  We have nothing to fear—how blessed we are.

Teach, learn. apply

Psalm 27:11a “Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path…” The greatest teacher is our Savior.  The greatest way to live is totally based on His words.  We are wise when we hear, learn and then apply all our Savior has to teach.  Gaining knowledge is fine–gaining wisdom is supreme.

Only one request

Psalm 27:4 “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my Iife,  to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” Pursuing earthly gain and ignoring a close relationship with our God is as foolish as foolish gets.  Knowing the true God and enjoying His presence is the most wonderful experience one can cherish.  Nothing comes close to the value found in the love relationship offered by God to you and me and then in return our love relationship to Him. We enjoy worshiping Him as that relationship will last through all eternity.

Comfort and security

Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?’ An unfortunate emotion of man is fear.  Why?  Because each of us relies on our own strengths and so easily forgets where our strength really lies.  We seem to think our strength comes from our macho man front.  Whereas our strength really comes from our knees resting on the ground.  Our strength comes from our Creator, never from the created.  If it’s necessary–get a knee replacement.
