Psalm 44:26 “Rise up and help us; rescue us because of your unfailing love.” You and I have no idea what love God has for each of us. What incomprehensible love we take for granted. Our Psalmist uses the word—unfailing—love. That is a great word and concept to cherish for 2026. Can you remember that for the next 365 days?Happy New Year!

Psalm 44:1 “We have heard it with our own ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago.” Every Christian has the responsibility of teaching and sharing their faith with the following generation. With that concept as an accepted responsibility future generations will always benefit from previous generations and ancestors. Without that line of ancestor teaching faith truths will disappear which is the worst thing that could happen to children and future families.

Psalm 43:5b “Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” The ending to this chapter is identical to the ending in the previous chapter. Why? Here is a thought—You and I need constant reminders and assurances. Our human nature is strong at times and forces us into depression thinking and lack of hope thinking. God is helping us, giving us strength, assuring us, comforting us while constantly repeating the thought–I love you. We could not possibly be in better hands. Thank and praise God!

Psalm 43:3a “Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me…” The concept of God as the light of the world occurs hundreds of times in the Bible. Why? The opposite of light is–dark–and that is exactly how one lives without light. Light dominates Christmas. Why? With Jesus comes light. That’s really what all the lights are about even though many do not realize it. Jesus is Light. Enjoy His light. Live in the Light! Merry Christmas–Our Light comes to earth!

Psalm 42:11b “…Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” How can you and I do anything other than praise our Savior on this magical day? God’s love for each of us becomes evident and obvious. Christmas, then Lent, then Easter—-No where is there greater love—Our humble recognition of our Savior’s love gives us a hope and assurance, peace and comfort. You and I can only humbly say—THANK YOU!
