How long is life?

Psalm 144:4 “Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.” Compared to eternity life is short.  How short?  Google says an average person takes 20,000 breaths/day.  Our Psalmist compares a lifetime to a breath.  That is an extremely short period of time.  Eternity is just the opposite.  Is there any reason to enjoy earthly pleasures and ignore eternal consequences?  We all spend so, so much time gathering a “fortune” not realizing the fabulous fortune our Savior is preparing for us that never ends.  Sometimes—what are you and I thinking?
