We pray to a Mighty God

Acts 4:24 “When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God, ‘Sovereign Lord, they said, ‘you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.” God’s power is beyond your and my abilities to comprehend.  In an extremely short period of time He created everything.  Everything created is not only complete—it is intricately made while at the same time it is massively made.  And to think—our Creator loves each of us dearly.  There is nothing better.

An impossibility

Acts 4:29 “For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” To give honor to God is the responsibility and privilege of every faith filled Christian.  It is impossible for you and me to keep the greatest story known and told to ourselves.  How many persons on this earth have led perfect lives?  How many persons on this earth have died and then rose back to life?  How many persons on this earth have lived and died so you and I could live?  How can that story not be told? Have a great weekend.

One source of salvation

Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Everyone has a right to their own opinion seems to be a common mentality.  That thinking couldn’t be more incorrect when it comes to your and my salvation.  The number of different religions or philosophies and the number of people who believe in them is irrelevant.  There is one and only one absolute truth—-Salvtion is found in Jesus.  This is the simple and precise absolute truth.

The importance of listening

Acts 3:22-23 “For Moses said,’The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.  Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among the people.” God does not ever display a nonchalant attitude toward His truths.  Moses did not, all of the other Old Testament prophets did not, the New Testament disciples did not and you and I should not.  God intends His Word of absolute truth to be learned and obeyed.  But, everyone in the world has a choice and that choice is the difference between life and death.

Not the Apostles, but the Lord

Acts 2:47b “….And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” All the Apostles did was use their talents, given by God, to tell others of the truths they had been told and witnessed  The Apostles could change no one’s heart.  That truth is the same for you and me.  All you and I can do is expose the truth and then let the Holy Spirit enter a person’s heart and make it whole.  It is phenomenal that you and I have the privilege of working with God.

A great promise

Acts 2:38-39a “Peter replied,’Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children…'” God will never promise and then not fulfill that promise.  It never matters when God makes His promise,  He will always abide by that promise.  This passage expresses one of the valuable promises God has made to each of us.  Imagine the rewards of this beautiful promise!
