Many gods or one God?

I Corinthians 8:6  “yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.” The world thrives on gods that have no eternal value.  The god of self, the god of wealth, the god of popularity, the god of education, the god of untold numbers of idols and the list of gods throughout history is endless.  Wood, metal or stone are worshipped as if they were real.  As Christians, we honor and praise only one Triune God.  What an honor it is to eliminate all the worldly confusion of gods and know the only one true God.
