God rewards kindness

Proverbs 25:21-22 “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, in doing this you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” Our Teacher gave His life for all people.  Our Teacher is Jesus, our example.  All means everyone-not just the “good, obedient, kind, generous, charitable, loving, considerate”–you get the idea.  Jesus died for all.  You and I can certainly learn and apply the truth–give water and food to even our enemy and God will reward each of us.

Results of too much

Proverbs 25:16 “If you find honey, eat just enough—too much of it, and you will vomit.” Excess of anything is too much and is never healthy no matter what the substance is.  Contentedness is the best.  If a person has the ability to indulge in excess, he/she must, in wisdom understand the concept of too much.  In everything–food, drink, work, leisure or any earthly desire–be careful to always ask yourself—-Is this excessive–does it allow me to give more glory to God–God always guide me! Have a great weekend.

Laziness is very expensive

Proverbs 24:34-35 “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” You and I are to responsibly use our talents.  Laziness is the lifestyle of many, but it is not going to generate the life God intends for us to live.  God intends us to live a life of abundance and not a life of poverty or want.  He has blessed America beyond measure and you and I are blessed to live in this country.  Enjoy life–honor God and serve as His humble creation.

Opposite of Golden Rule

Proverbs 24:29 “Do not say, ‘I’ll do to them as they have done to me; I’ll pay them back for what they did.'” Revenge is never a Christian option.  Holding a grudge is self-destructive.  To be mentally healthy and have a high level of EQ (which is far more important than a high IQ) one always has to improve themselves and encourage others to do the same.  If someone rejects your encouragement, walk away and carry on with a blessed life.

Attitude toward enemy

Proverbs 22:17 “Do not gloat when your enemy fails; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice.” Humility, no matter the circumstance, is always a character trait of an adopted and loved child of God.  To be concerned over the life and fate of everyone is certainly a character trait of our Savior Teacher and is therefore a character trait you and I should also emulate.  Although not normal, this passage is one to make our own.

We all stumble

Proverbs 24:16 “for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” None of us live a life of perfect happiness; We will when we get to Heaven, but while on this earth there will be times of disappointment within ourselves, disappointments because of others and just the opposite of a life of enjoyment.  However, every Christian will recover from disappointments and realize we have our God who loves us and will again give us a calm which passes all understanding.  Praise God that we all live a life of recovery.

Wisdom and honey

Proverbs 24:14 “Know also that wisdom is like honey for you; If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” Noone on earth denies the sweetness of honey and the enjoyable taste of that sweetness.  Wisdom is identical.  One has to search for wisdom, just like the honey of a honeycomb, but when wisdom is found one’s future is full of a confident contentedness that lasts for all eternity. Have a great weekend.

Strength is ultra important

Proverbs 24:10 “If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!” A structure built on sand or a carving at the beach in the sand is easily washed away.  The same is true with one’s life.  Are your and my principles built with a foundation resting on the solid truth of absolute security or are our principles built on maybe, who knows?  One creates and thrives on strength and the other is swayed by the foundation of shifting sand.  Build for a present and future of strength-swaying will cause collapse.

Consult the wise

Proverbs 24:6 “Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers.” A wise person will always consult with a wise team.  Can a wise decision be made by hanging out with the foolish?  Can successful living be the result where decisions are made with the omission of Biblical consultation?  Can God thinking result and wisdom practiced by ignoring God wisdom?  The knowledgeable and wise person will constantly be consulting the obvious–the wise and knowledgeable.

Make your house a great home

Proverbs 24:3 “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;” Wisdom and understanding are two key and valuable words in every Christian’s vocabulary.  Wisdom from God and knowledge of God.  With these two concepts active in our lives success cannot help but define our lives.  Without these two words in our lives a person is hurting and none of us want to be hurting.

God wants 100%

Proverbs 23:26 “My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways,” Nothing compares to the love our God has for each of us.  It is very difficult to understand or comprehend the emotion of our God in His love for us.  At the same time as God’s love is all inclusive, He tells each of us He wants not some of our heart or some love from us, He wants ALL of our heart and not once in a while but 100% of our breathing time.  Our life is His.  Our heart is His.  We are all His.

Is Thanksgiving over?

Proverbs 23:25 “May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful!” Thanksgiving is never over!  The joy a father and mother receive from their reciprocally loved children brings great appreciation and thanksgiving both to and from their children.   The only joy greater than children born into a family relationship as intended by God is the phenomenal love shown to each of us by our Savior.  That great love is comprehendible.   Have a great weekend.
