John 20:30-31 “Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” Jesus wants the world to know He is the Messiah and eternal life comes through Him–and only through Him. More earthly proof could be written, but you and I will have to wait for Heaven—another joy we will experience in eternity!

John 20:29b “…blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” You and I have never physically seen God. Yet we believe He is real and all He says is absolute truth. That is the definition of faith. A skeptic will demand proof and will not believe even when there is proof. The resurrection is far beyond any proof any Christian needs. God had men record it–you and I accept God’s Word as truth–we need no other proof. God declares each faith filled Christian as blessed and that is simply what we are–blessed. Thank You, God!

John 20:21 “Again Jesus said, ‘ Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”‘ You and I enjoy the privilege of being the loved and adopted child of God. With that honor we have the responsibility of a disciple. We are to tell others the truths of Scripture. Jesus was not loved by everyone to whom He told the Good News and neither will you or I. That fact, however; should never keep us from following the responsibility given to us by our Savior. Have a great weekend.

John 20:13a “They asked her,’Woman, why are you crying.”‘ Mary was heartbroken. Mary missed Jesus and she didn’t know where He was and didn’t realize she could have tears, but those tears would be tears of joy. Jesus had risen. You and I have also been very sad and heartbroken because we don’t really realize what has or is happening. We often are heartbroken when a loved one leaves this earth and goes to their Savior. We also should have tears, but tears of joy for our loved one because of the wonderful life they now live for all of eternity. This is easy to say but hard to do. We again need our Savior at our side.

John 20:2b “…They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him.” The greatest event to ever happen–the Resurrection–was lost to Mary and soon to a couple disciples because their human thinking came to incorrect conclusions. Do you and I, at times, enjoy the comforting thought of our Savior walking by our side while holding our hand or carrying us while at other times we walk in fear of the unknown? All of us come to incorrect conclusions throughtout our lives. Never live in fear. Enjoy the wonderful confidence provided by our Heavenly Father 100% of our time and in all of life serve our loving Savior and each other.

John 19:24b “…This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled…” God has stated with total accuracy past, present and future events. From prior to creation through His second coming God has presented Himself. Christians see, believe and look forward to the fulfillment of God’s promised predictions. There is no fear or doubt as to our future in heaven, only a faith filled knowledge of joyful certainty. Whether a person believes or not does not determine fulfillment. God’s Word alone determines fulfillment. Praise be to God.

John 18:38a “‘What is truth,”’ retorted Pilate… Pilate was expressing the dilemma much of the world lives with. The dilemma goes from real and absolute truth, to every person’s truth is his/her truth, to there is no such thing as truth. Every faith filled Christian has been blessed to not be bothered with a questioning answer to the question. The truth is obvious. God’s Word is truth and the resurrection absolutely sealed that truth.

John 18:37c “…Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” If only the world would listen to these words of our Savior. If you and I want to live successful lives we will listen carefully to these words and not only listen but also apply them to our daily walk. We are freely given the success formula yet we are continually tempted to listen to “successful” people who influence so many. Never be fooled–trust your Father and live very successful lives. Have a great weekend.

John 18:29-30 “So Pilate came out to them and asked,’What charges are you bringing against this man?’ ‘If he were not a criminal,’ they replied, ‘we would not have handed him over to you.”‘ Jesus was as innocent as innocent gets. Jesus’ enemies both then and now cannot find fault in anything Jesus did or said, yet the desire of the world is to find fault for the sake appeasing themselves. One cannot be more foolish. Instead of recognizing the magnificence of our Savior and gaining a life of security and peace, a life of epicureanism seems to be the desire of many. That truth is the strangest truth known to man.

John 18:23 “‘If I said something wrong,’Jesus replied, ‘ testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?'” God’s truth is not only ignored, it is often ridiculed as another opinionated philosophy. How sad! Man often chooses to ignore and even laugh at our Savior’s absolute truths. The day will come when our Father’s words will be all fulfilled and those who have ignored the wisdom which could have been gained is recognized as the Light which could have brought all out of darkness.

John 18:18 “It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them warming himself.” You are who you hang out with. Peter was hanging out with enemies of Jesus for seeming logical reasons—it was cold and he and the others wanted warmth. Noone in the group loved Jesus and Peter knew it. Peter put himself into a very dangerous place in his spiritual life and he regretfully fell. The same happens to you and me when we place ourselves surrounded with complacent or enemies of our Savior. Surround yourselves with those who love their and your Savior. Our eternal lives are at stake.
