Just for a little while

I Peter i:6 “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” If you or I think our life on this earth will be only filled with joy and wonderful events we will not only find ourselves questioning our faith, but we will also never mature with the true concept of strength in adversity.  God tells us our faith will gain strength as we realize we need Him.  Place your right hand over your left hand, close your eyes and enjoy the feeling of your Heavenly Father holding your hand and guiding you through life.  As you squeeze your right hand you will feel God’s great love for you.  Enjoy this simple exercise.

Fw: Guaranteed promise

—– Forwarded Message —– From: Richard Waldschmidt Sent: Friday, December 1, 2023 at 08:51:56 AM ESTSubject: Guaranteed promise I Peter 1:3b-4 “…In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” If you received a letter today stating that you have received an inheritance and you will receive another letter in a month instructing you to go to an attorney’s office and learn what your very wealthy uncle left you, you would be very excited about the next letter and the follow up. If God sent you a letter and said you have received a phenomenal inheritance that is beyond belief and the inheritance is spelled out in a book, wouldn’t you be excited and anxiously read that book to learn what that great inheritance is?  You and I have that book.   Have a great weekend.

Chosen–Called

I Peter 1parts &2 “To God’s elect….who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of te Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood.” In multiple places throughout the Bible God wants to let us know He called each of us to be His own and knew you and me even before He created this beautiful earth.  God intentionally, because of His great love, has made you and me His loved and adopted child with all the inherited rights a child receives from loving parents.  Nothing–nothing could be better!

The truth

John 21:24 “This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down.  We know that his testimony is true.” Where can truth, absolute truth, be found?  In God’s Word, the Bible, absolute truth is found.  How can Christians be so sure?  Only because of faith.  There certainly are authentic groups who have made and are still making exerted efforts to prove facts like Creation, the Resurrection, the authenticity of the Bible, the Flood, numerous archeological proofs and they are doing excellent work always proving the truths of the Bible are accurate.  Jesus is our Savior.  Our Heavenly Father loves each of us dearly.  We will spend eternity in Heaven because of our Savior.  These absolutes are a matter of faith.  Enjoy your God given faith.

Where do we look?

John 21:21 “When Peter saw him, he asked, ‘Lord, what about him?”’ Peter did not realize his first concern should be his own faith.  His friend John’s faith and life were certainly important, but Peter displayed a flaw and Jesus needed to correct that flaw.  That same flaw is easily present in you and me also.  Are we recognizing we are in desperate of a Savior?  Let’s not be hasty to judge others.  Let’s be hasty to recognize our own needs as we present ourselves before our Heavenly Father.

Listen and this happens

John 21:6 “He said,’Throw your nets on the right side of the boat and you will find some.”‘ The fishermen listened to Jesus and they experienced more success than ever before.  The Bible is loaded with life experiences where God is listened to and where God is not listened to.  Every time, without fail, when God and His principles are listened to and followed success comes.  Isn’t the truth of God’s will 100% of the time proven to have an end result of success?  You and I should always listen to our God and we will experience success always.

Unrealized presence

John 21:4 “Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.” The disciples could see but they did not realize.  How often in our lives do we see but not realize?  Answer: Often.Even when we wake up in the morning do we realize we had breath as we slept because God blessed us with breath?  When we eat and our body is nourished do we realize nourishment is a wonderful gift from God?  As we live with peace, comfort and hope do we realize those emotional gifts are cherished gifts from our Heavenly Father?  Our lives are abundantly filled with a tremendous amount of love that you and I experience but hardly realize.  Thanksgiving is to be a daily celebration for everyone.

Look forward to the stories

John 20:30-31 “Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.  But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” Jesus wants the world to know He is the Messiah and eternal life comes through Him–and only through Him.  More earthly proof could be written, but you and I will have to wait for Heaven—another joy we will experience in eternity!

You Are Blessed

John 20:29b “…blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” You and I have never physically seen God.  Yet we believe He is real and all He says is absolute truth.  That is the definition of faith.  A skeptic will demand proof and will not believe even when there is proof.  The resurrection is far beyond any proof any Christian needs.  God had men record it–you and I accept God’s Word as truth–we need no other proof.  God declares each faith filled Christian as blessed and that is simply what we are–blessed.  Thank You, God!

Every disciples’ pleasure

John 20:21 “Again Jesus said, ‘ Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”‘ You and I enjoy the privilege of being the loved and adopted child of God.  With that honor we have the responsibility of a disciple.  We are to tell others the truths of Scripture.  Jesus was not loved by everyone to whom He told the Good News and neither will you or I.  That fact, however; should never keep us from following the responsibility given to us by our Savior. Have a great weekend.

Great and sad question

John 20:13a “They asked her,’Woman, why are you crying.”‘ Mary was heartbroken.  Mary missed Jesus and she didn’t know where He was and didn’t realize she could have tears, but those tears would be tears of joy.  Jesus had risen.   You and I have also been very sad and heartbroken because we don’t really realize what has or is happening.  We often are heartbroken when a loved one leaves this earth and goes to their Savior.  We also should have tears, but tears of joy for our loved one because of the wonderful life they now live for all of eternity.  This is easy to say but hard to do.  We again need our Savior at our side.
