Jesus was hated?

John 7:7 “The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.” Jesus, the perfect Son of God, the Savior of mankind, was hated.  That statement seems impossible.  Why?  The world loves greed, sexual pollution, abortion, worshipping false gods and the list goes on.  Jesus spoke and lived condemning such behavior.  The world didn’t and doesn’t want to hear the truth of how corruption ruins lives and therefore He was hated.  None of us should fall into the traps of the world.

Where do you go?

John 6:68 “Simon Peter answered him,’Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.”‘ Peter asked the same question you and I would ask–the most important question man can ask.  The answer is so obvious to every faith filled Christian—there is nowhere else, other than Jesus.  The world is lost in it’s answer.  The question—where does one go for truth?—I don’t really know– wherever you want because there is no known absolute truth. The answer; however, is an easy one in the Christian world–we camly and confidently adhere to the absolute truths of our Savior. Have a great weekend.

The same yesterday and today

John 6:66 “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.” The impossible happened.  Jesus explained truth and many would not believe.  There is no difference today.  Many reject God and His truth.  The most important truth of our universe and the truth which gains eternal life is not only ignored, it is denied.  Can man be more foolish?  It’s like looking into a mirror and denying the reflection of yourself—you conclude it’s someone else.  Thank God that He has led you to faithfulness and eternal salvation.  There is nothing better.

How to live forever

John 6:58 “Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” Jesus always speaks words of absolute truth.  As you and I eat food we know we are nourishing our body, but we also know, even though we eat nutritiously, we will die.  Jesus tells us—-no, you won’t die—believe in Me and live gloriously forever.  Now, God has given you and me a free will—adopt the words of Jesus–learn of Him–develop a close relationship with Him—enjoy being His loved, adopted child or hope for the best, whatever that is.

Totally misunderstood

John 6:52 “Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”‘ Although Jesus had a curious audience, He did not have listeners who understood what He was saying.  The same is true in history before Jesus’s time, after Jesus’s time and even today.  When Jesus tells the world the truth, the world evaluates and determines their own truth.  When Jesus says—I am the bread of life–the world foolishly thinks–does that mean we eat you?  How sad the thinking of the world.  How blessed are His faithful followers.

Jesus’ repitition makes clarity-eliminate but

John 30-31a “But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die.  I am the living bread that came down from heaven..” Faith guarantees eternal life.  Jesus wants all to know Him.  Those statements can seem very complicated or be extremely simple.  Jesus is life.  He wants the world to know this simple truth.  Man seems to love making life complicated with so many–buts.  But what if-but what about this-but others think-but-endless buts.  Jesus simply says–I bring eternal life.  Let’s eliminate the but and enjoy His absolute truth. Have a great weekend.

What happens when one dies?

John 6:47 “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.” There seems to be two general thoughts in regard to life after death.  One, there is no life after death and the other, life after death never, never, never ends.  Jesus teaches the latter.  Everyone has a faith in something.  Jesus’ words are absolute truth.  One might say–that’s your opinion–but is it?  There aren’t many people who have died and then rose from the dead–only one.  That One, Jesus, is hard not to believe.  Now, do you want to believe in those who die and remain in the grave or believe in the One who miraculously accomplished His own Resurrection.  Very simple choice!

The Father’s will

John 6:40 “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” We often pray–not my will, but Your will be done.  God’s will is for us to look to Jesus, believe what He has to say and live accordingly.  Your and my will has zero value if it is not God’s will.  Which would we rather have–zero return on investment or 1000%?  The answer is obvious.

The clearest truth

John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared,’I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”‘ It is impossible for Jesus to be clearer.  He did not come to earth for any other reason than to witness to the truth.  It is impossible for Jesus to speak anything other than the truth.  The sad truth is many make up their own truth and substitute their thinking as if their thinking had authority.  Thank God that He has given you the faith which rests on the firm Truth which rewards you with peace on earth and life everlasting. Please pray for Stephanie’s son who was seriously injured in a footbal accident and that he recovers from a severe concussion.

The Bread of Life

John 6:33 “For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” San Francisco Boudin sourdough bread is undoubtedly the most popular sourdough bread in the world.  If you were told to buy a loaf and you would have eternl life and the statement was true–wouldn’t you buy at least one loaf and wait with major anticipation for it to be shipped to you?  You might even drive or fly to San Francisco to buy a loaf.  Do you live with such anticipation in studying God’s Word where the Bread of Life can truly be found?

A life saving truth

John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared,’I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.'” Jesus states the truth very simply.  He says–I am.  He says–never go hungry, never be thirsty.  Anyone who believes those simple words will have peace on earth and enjoy eternity in Heaven.  Why so many make this truth so difficult is so foolish.  Believe–the truth is wonderful and simple. Have a great weekend.
