Salvation from…

Psalm 37:39 “The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.” There is one source of our salvation and that source is certainly not our own making.  Our Father demands perfection and no one either reading or writing these words comes close to perfection.  We all desperately need a Savior.  Fortunately, neither you nor I are desperate—-we have our Savior.   We can breathe a giant sigh of relief. We soon celebrate–our Savior is born!

Another promise

Psalm 37:28 “For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones.” Live with integrity.  Every Christian lives and breaths integrity. A Christian cannot act one way in a bar and another way in a church.  A constant relationship with one’s Heavenly Father is enjoyed by you and me and is blessed by our God.  And to be loved by God—nothing could be better! Have a great weekend.

Time proves God’s promises

Psalm 37:25 “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” David had experienced life when he wrote this verse.  He was elderly.  He had experienced sadness, rebellion, happiness, dear friendship, a very close relationship with his Savior and knew he would affect future generations like you and me as he wrote.  Never–that’s a key word–Never will God abandon His children.  Never will He stop blessing His children.  You and I could never conceive of a more loving and faithful God.  Enjoy and praise!

Firm, stumble upheld

Psalm 37:23-24 “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” Our Psalmist, David, wrote what is realistic, what is truth, and what is faith filled.  He knows God.  He knows the strength and the weakness of man.  He knows and tells us the truth and the ultra-importance of our reliance on God.  You and I are His faithful followers, but none of us are perfect.  Yet, because of His grace, we live on this earth in peace and look forward to an eternity of unbelievable joy.  Our present and future looks great!

Brave words from a brave warrior

Psalm 37:5p “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him…” If you had to define your attitude many times you would use the word “skeptical”.  If you apply that word to your faith you would be “one of the biggest losers”.  David is telling us very specifically–trust– and be “one of the biggest winners”.  “Loser” or “Winner”?  Make your heart, mind and soul decide.

Enjoy Jesus

Psalm 37:4 “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Can this passage possibly be true?  Enjoy living your faith and enjoy the life your Savior provides.  This passage is a promise from One who could not love you more.  The desires of a Christian are for a faith filled life and living a life of wisdom.  Then enjoy all God has given you.

A fountain

Psalm 36:9 “For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” There are two well known fountains–one is the fountain of youth and the other is the fountain of life.  One is temporary, one is eternal.  One is self-centered, one is God centered.  One is strived for by almost all people of the world, one is strived for by a faith filled clientele.  Which well is at the center of your life?

Poetic truths

Psalm 36:8 “They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from the river of your delights.” David expresses the huge generosity of our God.  You and I have to daily thank God for all He does for us.  As we experience His generosity on this earth imagine what Heaven is like for those we love who have left this earth and the wonders which we all are soon to experience.

Is anything more precious?`

Psalm 36:7 “How precious is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” There is not a person on earth who has not failed multiple times.  A common rule of failure is 80% success and 20 % failure, and a persistence will make a person very successful.  The rule God follows is: 100% success and 0% failure.  When God says –you can count on Me, I will never fail you, My love for you never fails==He is speaking 100% truth.  That is impossible to bet.

Define God’s love

Psalm 36:5 “Your love, Lord. reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” God’s love exceeds our ability to understand because we cannot help but ask the question–why?  That question is also without understanding.  Is love difficult to understand because it is the ultimate of caring, comforting, commitment and a host of other words which express an ultimate commitment to another’s life.  And love must include forgiveness.  There is no greater love relationship than your God’s love for you. Have a great weekend.

Continually

Psalm 35:28 “My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long.” You and I have an unbelievable relationship with God.  That is a thought which is very difficult to understand.  How and why does God desire a closeness to you and me who are constantly doing actions and thinking thoughts which are counter to His will?  He even loved us so much that He sent His Son to exist in human form just so we could have that relationship.  You and I have to continually thank our Amazing God!

Faith and trust

Psalm 34:19 “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” The first half of this verse is easy to understand, but the second half is not easy to understand.  Troubles, on a scale of 1-10 are 9.999 while our understand or comprehension of God’s love and His emergency life ambulance is so very low.  Should you and I, with an increase in faith, hope and prayer turn that statistic to be just the opposite?  He delivers us from them all is a towering skyscraper promise.
