Hate is good?

John 15:18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” God’s principles and truths are not enjoyed by many in the world.  Jesus was even threatened with death many times before He was actually put to death for His exposing the truth.  You and I have the responsibility of knowing God’s truths, which is why we study His Word, we are also responsible for telling others His truths.  What a joy it is to be His adopted child but expect to be not liked by many.

What an honor

John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” Every faith filled Christian is not the creator of his own faith filled live; rather God has chosen him/her to live and teach others the joy of life with our Savior.  Imagine—you are CHOSEN.  Does that mean God has written your name in the Book of Life?  Absolutely-Definitely-Without Question.  You and I are both humbled and honored.  What a fantastic Savior, Advocate and King we praise.  Thank you, God. Have a great weekend.

Ultimate love

John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” What can possibly be said to help one understand this truth.  Jesus, our best friend, died for you and me.  That truth is the greatest truth, greatest love relationship, greatest friendship and greatest wonder which ever happened.  Great is the closest word in our vocabulary which describes His love for each of us.  What a phenomenal best friend!!

Are you enabled?

John 15:8 “This is my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” God intends for each of us to flourish.  What does flourish mean?  Flourish means to have a close relationship with Him and let His love be known.  Flourish and success are identical twins.  Both demand an interlocking relationship with our Heavenly Father with our purpose being to praise, honor and tell the world all about Him as He reveals Himself in the Bible.  All earthly blessings are then a result of that relationship.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the world realized this truth?

Confusion eliminated

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches.  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” What can you accomplish for God?  Absolutely nothing!  Isn’t the correct question–what will God accomplish within each of us and how will God use us and what is His purpose for each of us on this earth?  We tend to place ourselves first and God is fortunate we came into being—how blessed God is.  That is the way the world lives if the world even includes the true God in their ego.  How foolish.  Without God, whatever one thinks they have accomplished is meaningless.  We bear fruit only as we accomplish His purpose with our lives.

Fw: We need Him for life

We need Him for life

John 15:4 “Remain in me, as I also remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” To live a successful life one must have a close relationship with his/her Heavenly Father.  Without that relationship all else is meaningless.  With that close relationship success includes many enjoyable blessings.  Just like an apple cannot even think about becoming a beautiful piece of fruit, as the apple must be attached to an apple tree, so you and I can only live a successful life being solidly attached to our Lord and Savior.

A joy to know your Savior

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Fear and anxiety are very common human traits.  There is almost an endless list of causes of trauma within each of us if we allow ourselves to participate.  If we take to heart this passage and the content which our Savior wants us to enjoy our level of fear and anxiety will be extremely low (unfortunately, it will not disappear because we still are human) and our level of peace and security and calm will be extremely high.  God give each of us His peace. Have a great weekend.

Living with God

John 14:23 “Jesus replied,” Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.  My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” The opening two words of this passage makes us listen intently.  When Jesus speaks–we listen.  The book of John is packed with love language.  What is the most important — most important emotion of well being you and I experience?  The feeling of being loved and giving love—-That one emotion is the difference between life and death.  Reread the passage.

Faith is required in this truth

John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth.” God knows we are weak when left alone and are like fragile lambs without a shepherd.  We would wonder, get lost and be devoured by wolves. That is not symbolism—that is the truth.  What does He do to protect us?  He gives us the Holy Spirit who lives inside each of us.  That truth is not only a miracle each of us enjoy, but also the truth which gives us strength and comfort to survive in a world of hurt and chaos.  The Holy Spirit gives us a comfort, so we thrive with hope and never have to live in fear.

Simple thought

John 14:15 “If you love me, keep my commands.” Our Savior has made life for us quite simple.  Love loves love and love enjoys pleasing the one loved.  Jesus loves loving you.  If we enjoy that love isn’t it a simple and logical conclusion that in appreciation we obey?  So simple, yet so difficult.  We pray and thank Him for His help knowing we will do well.

Ask and believe

John 14:13-14 “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” The truth of this thought Jesus expresses sure exposes the weakness of our faith.  Our human nature constantly overrides this verse.  God is always, without fail watching out for your and my good.  We ask and He always answers according to His will and for our good.  That is faith in action and that faith dictates how we live life.  Eliminate our human nature and clothes ourselves in our God nature.
