Want to be blessed?

Psalm 34:8 “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Never take refuge or find your security in any assets you may have.  Intelligence, savings, investments, job or anything that seems to give security, but which can also disappear in an instant.  The only piece of security which will never fade is the hope we have in our God.  He is from everlasting to everlasting.  We can find no more security than that.  Enjoy!!

God has eyes and ears?

Psalm 34:15 “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;” Our Majestic God hears you and me and sees our actions in life.  The closest we can understand that happening is if one has eyes and ears.  David and God want us to understand, therefore; the words of this passage are written as they are.  This passage also says God is compassionate by using the last 4 words written.  We can certainly see we worship an awesome God just through this short verse.

It is impossible not to

Psalm 34:1 “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.’ Not just thank you–but THANK YOU!  That is what David says we, as Christians should feel and express.  To be so appreciative of our God and His love for us brings us to tears.  How phenomenally blessed we are. Have a great weekend.

Great morning prayer

Psalm 33:22 “May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.” Can there be more security than to own our God’s unfailing love?  Would you rather have a billion $ or God’s unfailing love?  Much of the world would choose earthly wealth.  How do I know?  Very simple–look at the morality and thinking of the world.  Those of us who choose His unfailing love have been blessed beyond measure.  Thank and praise God.

Hope–help–shield

Psalm 22:20 “We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.” Hope=confident expectation.  Hope is not maybe yes, maybe no.  Hope is an absolute.  You and I, with absolute confident expectation look forward to God fulfilling all the promises He has told us in Scripture.  Our life on this earth and our eternal life are in His hands (where we absolutely want them to be).  We could not possibly be in a better place!

Where are God’s eyes?

Psalm 33:18 “But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” God’s love is unique only to itself.  He sees you and me, because we place our hope in Him, as His dear children and blesses us accordingly.  To correct our human nature with its infinite number of flaws He sent His Son to live, die and rise so that you and I would become perfect.  There is no greater love.  What an amazing God we cherish with all our hope.

Is America blessed?

Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.” Is America a Christian nation?  Many Christians are trying to make it that way.  Charlie Kirk certainly was trying very hard and his wife is now taking his place to accomplish the same.  We all have to ask–are we playing our role in making America a blessed nation?  Time will expose the answer; however, let each of us show the courage to live and encourage others to live the life our God intends for us.

God has plans

Psalm 33:11 “But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” A person has two choices in regard to this passage:  the first choice is to ignore it, while the second choice is to apply it.If you ignore it–just continue with life and grab all the gusto you can.  If you choose to apply it you will live a purposeful life praying that you are filled with doing your Father’s will.  The second will have the meaning your Savior intends.  The second will fil you with meaning for yourself, fellow mankind and service with praise to God.  Enjoy! Have a great weekend.

What is David saying?

Psalm 33:6 & 9 “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath if his mouth. For he spoke and it came to be; he commanded and it stood firm. David is stating the absolute wonder of Creation.  Our God is far beyond our comprehension.  You and I can do a lot of talking but we can never create out of nothing with words alone.  God did and in the most intricate and varied form.  When we get to heaven, I am positive we will be astonished and marvel at the home He has prepared for each of us.

His abundant love

Psalm 21:5 “The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love.” Every breath you and I take is a gift from God.  Breath is only the beginning of the treasure house of gifts we are freely blessed with.  Every one of us–look around you and see the gifts you have been given.  Riches galore are yours and mine.  God says–enjoy–I love you–how blessed we are!

True and Faithful

Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” It is obvious that David loved God and had a relationship with Him which was tight.  David trusted God with all his heart.  He must have written the Psalms because he wanted you and me to feel the same and to enjoy the life one can live only with that tight and loving relationship.

Love and Trust

Psalm 32:10 “Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.” Trusting in God is the easiest thing a person can possibly do yet many fail.  Why would a person trust in anyone or anything else when the Creator of the Universe has outstretched arms and offers a comfort and peace found nowhere else?  We pray that our human nature never overrides the trust we are guaranteed by our Heavenly Father.  Let us live our lives trusting in Him and Him alone.
