Following or leading

Proverbs 1:10 “My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.” Every day of our lives we face paths of world thinking and world doing or paths of God thinking and God doing.  The f…word and d…word are so common–yet do you join or do you think–wrong-I will not participate.  Is your thinking–what is the best for me–or is your thinking–what would God have me think and do?  Are you in constant communication with your Heavenly Father or do you pray just as a special need arises?  As a child of God and heir to a Heavenly fortune we are always in a mindset of serving, honoring and living lives which represent ourselves as ambassadors of our Savior.

Listen and be blessed

Proverbs 1:8 “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” Parents, Grandparents, children and grandchildren have a huge and extremely important responsibility.  Teach and learn.  The Wise teach wisdom and the Wise learn wisdom.  God is giving all of us golden instruction—that is, no matter your age in life, you and I have an important job which effects generations.  Recognize your position and fulfill it.

wisdom–yes or no

Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” To continually learn from and about our God is an exciting honor.  What a joy it is to study His Word and gain both knowledge and wisdom.  I cannot imagine how desperate we would all be without His Word.  Cherish the privilege and joy of being able to read, learn, strengthen your faith and develop a closer relationship with Him who’s love for you passes all understanding.  Have a great weekend.

Be wise

Proverbs 1:5 “let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—” God is setting you and me up for instruction.  We will learn truths that when applied will make our lives full of wisdom and solid character.  We look forward to studying the Proverbs.

what an introduction!

Proverbs 1:1-4 “The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young— ” Since God’s words contain all the above–we have to study Proverbs.

Emotional and stable words

Ephesians 6:23-24 “Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.” All Christians are blessed having the peace and the love of our Almighty God.  Nothing has more value.  I had a meeting with 8 former addicts last night teaching them this very thought.  What a difference knowing the security and peace which only comes with having a faith relationship enjoyed when God carries, walks along side or simply holding hands makes.  You are extremely blessed.

The same thought for us

Ephesians 6:19 “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” Paul had a special prayer request.  He wanted to always represent his Heavenly Father and he wanted to always be brave, accurately understand and then explain the truths of God.  We can all pray that same prayer for each other.  All Christians want to represent, understand and communicate accurately the absolute truths of God and His Word.  Another great reason to study His Word.

Excellent advise

Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. The power of God is impossible for you and me to comprehend.  Let’s take a few examples:  He created the world with all its complexities in 6 days.  He rose from the dead.  He has no beginning and no end.  He listens to all of us as we pray or talk to Him.  He knew you and me before He created this world.  He is going to bring us to Himself in Heaven and we will live forever.  Nothing is beyond His understanding.  Why possibly would we not honor and enjoy the love of our magnificent Heavenly Father? Have a great weekend.

Children/parent relationship

Ephesians 6:1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are one of the outstanding blessings God has given to a husband and wife.  No asset any of us own has more value.  When children are raised with God as the center of the family and love dominates the family relationship, nothing brings more happiness to life.

Instruction for husbands

Ephesians 5:28 “In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.  He who loves his wife loves himself.” If husbands would keep this passage at the forefront of their relationship with their wives, divorce would be nonexistent.  No husband, no wife and no children are perfect, but when God’s Word and truths are the focal point of life, the best of life on this earth will be the result.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” A friend of mine just text me that her aunt just died of alcoholism.  261 people in the U.S. die daily from alcohol abuse.  If you suffer, get help.  If you know of someone who suffers–help them.  Help them help themselves–nothing good comes from alcoholism.  This passage speaks directly to this issue.  Please pray for my friend and her family.
