Acts 4:20 “As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Peter and John were told to stop telling people about Jesus. They then said this simple statement. They could do nothing other than tell the truth. Aren’t you and I in the same position? You and I are obligated to speak the truth about all that our God has to say. We can’t do anything else! We cannot lie nor can we keep the truth to ourselves. How could we do anything else as His forgiven, loved, adopted children?

Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” A modern cultural thought is–everyone, with very few exceptions, is going to heaven. That thought could not be further from the truth. Faith in Jesus as our perfect Advocate, is not only a hope for everyone who gains eternal life, it is the ONLY way to gain eternal life no matter what our weak desires might be. Salvation, which is desired by all, can only come to those who have a faith filled relationship with our loving Advocate Savior Jesus. There is only ONE way to be saved. This verse is extremely essential for truth to prevail. Have a great weekend.

Acts 2:42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Four example traits of the early Christian church members are the same you and I would do well in practicing today. The 2000 year spread doesn’t affect the value of these 4 activities. One: learning, understanding, studying God’s Word; Two; hanging out with fellow believers. In other words–having a Christian support and fellowship, conversation group; Three: celebrating communion and having get togethers (meals-parties) with fellow believers; Four: praying, talking with God- which is a natural as He is the One who loves you far beyond our understanding. Enjoy your Christian life!

Acts 4:38-39a “Peter replied, ‘Repent, and be baptized, every one of you. In the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children…” God’s demands, His promises and His love never change. That statement is difficult for you and me to understand because our lives are constantly experiencing change. The God Adam, Abraham, David, Matthew, your Christian grandparents and you and I worship is the same. His truths never change. His promises are true and everlasting. A glorious eternity is waiting. What a wonderful God we cherish.

Acts 2:21 “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” These words were quoted by a New Testament prophet of an Old Testament prophet. You and I can quote these same words as the truth remains the same. There is no other way to spend life eternally in Heaven. This truth has been since the fall in the Garden of Eden and will never change. Know this truth. Believe this truth. Live this truth. Tell others this truth.

Acts 1:26a “Then they prayed, ‘Lord, you know everyone’s heart…” You don’t know my heart and I don’t know your heart. Words and actions can be very deceiving. BUT with God nothing is hidden. He knows your heart felt motives. Your and my heart felt motives are what He sees and what only He can and does judge us by. If anything you or I do is for show, it is detrimental to a healthy heart. You and I have to ask the question—how is my heart? The answer is of ultra importance.

Acts 1:15a “In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about one hundred and twenty) and said, ‘Brothers and sisters, the Scripture had to be fulfilled…” Jesus, our Advocate, was promised and that promise happened. Judas, as Jesus’ betrayer, was foretold by David and that promise was fulfilled. Jesus rising from the dead was promised and again, that promise was fulfilled. Our God will again come to earth and bring all believers to Himself in Heaven. God’s promises are always fulfilled. Believe and spread the Word–that is the duty of man/woman. Have a great weekend.

Acts 1:3 “After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.” Jesus was born, lived, fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies, suffered, died and (the most earth shattering event of all) rose from the dead. A person can accept it all, deny it all, accept some and deny some, but the proof is the last part of this verse—for 40 days He established proof. No human could possibly do what He did. Nothing is gained by denying. Everything is gained by living a believing and faith filled life. Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” Every person on earth is included in this one verse. Every person (whether they realize it or not is immaterial) is to be in awe of God, follow His intended purpose for each of us, live with a recognized fulfillment of that purpose and understand the meaninglessness of making life’s purpose the pursuit of earthly pleasure. NOTHING is more important than following God in all He has us do.

Ecclesiastes 12:9 “Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs.” Without God there is little, if any, meaning to life. Is the ultimate purpose of life pleasure and accumulation? If so, the song of maybe 30 years ago applies—is that all there is? Life for all of us has its happiness and sadness, yet we all have a God intended purpose/s to fulfill. Finding that purpose/s and praising our God in the process is the duty of man/woman.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 “As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in the mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” What is simpler than the wind? What is more complicated than the development of a child in the womb? And what about the rest of life and creation? How can something seem extremely complicated and yet appear as natural as the morning and the evening? God’s handiwork surrounds each of us in its simplicity and its complexity. Praise God with a believing faith and say to yourself with a childlike faith—Life with God is wonderful!

Ecclesiastes11:2 “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” Solomon was a financial advisor. He may have invented the mentality of diversity. His mentality was: Diversify, as one investment might not do so well—therefore; have others so your income remains stable. The book of Proverbs has wisdom for living a successful life on this earth and living with our God eternally. Proverbs is just like the rest of Scripture. We study it for success. Have a great weekend.
