Proverbs 28:26 “Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.” When you or I have a difficult relational/decision problem do we go to the psychology book along with our own thinking for a solution or do we fold our hands and ask God for His ultimate wise guidance and place our concerns in His hands and authority? This passage is the answer to the question. We all should remember God’s answer in all cases for a much more contented life.

Proverbs 28:25 “The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.” I don’t know anyone (and I think you don’t either) who wants to be a failure. We all want to experience happiness or joy and be a success. God makes happiness, joy and success so easy and guaranteed —He says–Trust in Me and all goodness is yours. The formula is as easy as 1+1 = 2. Why do we all at times make life so difficult. Can we make 2025 a prosperous year? We know the formula. Julie is having a difficult time in the development of her business. Pray that God give her guidance as she will listen to His direction. Have a great weekend.

Proverbs 28:20 “A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.” Two people own corvettes. One says–thank you, God for this exciting blessing while the other says–I deserve this because I worked hard. Same car, same seeming pleasure driving it, but worlds apart in appreciation and attitude. You and I watch and can’t tell the difference between the two—-but God can. God is joyful over one and disappointed in the other. Which “corvette” owner are you and I? What “corvette” owner will you and I be in 2025?Happy New Year to all!

Proverbs 28:19 “Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty.” God must love a hard-working farmer, tradesman, teacher, business person or/and those who work and work hard. Skilled persons who work hard are simply admired. Not only are they admired, they are blessed. Unfortunately, they still experience the woes of this life. However, those who aren’t willing to work hard, experience woes and live lives while experiencing a life of poverty. Poverty or abundance–fantasies or hard work—we all make a choice.

Proverbs 28:6 “Better the poor whose walk is blameless than the rich whose ways are perverse.” Wouldn’t it seem natural for a person who has money galore and a few multi-million dollar houses and a mega yacht and a few Lamborghinis etc. to be so extremely appreciative for the blessings they are able to enjoy and share? They would want to thank God from sun up to sun down. And their faith would be extremely evident. However, Solomon writes just the opposite. Wealth is dangerous. Life is very short–eternity is forever. Prepare for forever and our lives then are truly rich and blessed. Have a great weekend.

Proverbs 28:7 “Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.” Today should we concentrate on evildoers or Christians? Let’s choose Christians–those who seek the Lord. How did you celebrate Christmas? Worshipping Jesus? Yes? Great! There is no other reason to celebrate Christmas. You understand your Lord and you seek the Lord and your life and eternity thrives in your Savior’s blessing. You understand and you are wonderfully blessed.

Proverbs 27:19 “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.” You have never and will never look at any reflection of yourself in water or in a mirror and see someone else. Your words, thoughts and actions are a reflection of that unique person–you. Have a pure and loving heart. Our God is our example as there cannot be a more loving heart than our God’s who sent His one and only Son to save you and me. There is no greater love. We celebrate Christmas for no other reason–don’t let the world ever fool you. Merry Christmas to you all!

Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Your, as a Christian, thrive with friends who enjoy a close relationship with their Heavenly Father. Weakness and insecurities come when friends travel in the same boat together of —who knows—thinking. I know is a foundation of bedrock which followers of the true God enjoy. Share that foundation and enjoy life and the comfort and hope only found in Jesus. (We celebrate His birth very soon.)

Proverbs 27:9 “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness springs from their heartfelt advise.” Even though life on this earth can be frustrating and full of trouble, yet there are very pleasant times. Conversation with a friend is one of those pleasant times. Exchanging ideas, helping each other reach decisions and just living with each other’s company are pleasant experiences enjoyed as we live on this earth. Enjoy life with your wise friends. Have a great weekend.

Proverbs 27:2 “Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider and not your own lips.” It is an honor to hear others say-well done–. It will be an ultimate honor when your Heavenly Father says to you–well done–. When one says these two words to or about oneself, honor is lost, misplaced personal pride reigns and humility (a great personal trait) is nowhere to be seen.

Proverbs 26:4 “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.” You and I are to be wise in all our conversation. To follow a fool’s conversation would be just the opposite and would profit no one. This Proverb is the same as all the other Proverbs which ask the underlying question—who do you and I represent in all we do? There should never be a gap in our character or representation.

Proverbs 25:28 “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.” Wild chaos is the only result when a person loses control of their actions. Self-control is essential at all times even when a person is being mistreated. Levelheaded thinking will win no matter the situation. Always be calm remembering who you represent.
