Always steadfast

Psalm 57:7a “My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast…” As a faith-filled Christian you and I can do nothing other than constantly turn to our Magnificent God.  Even in moments of weakness, we know our God is never weak and our strength is constantly in Him.  We know our weakness is never founded in His weakness; however, our strength is always found in His strength.  We pray He always give us a steadfast mind and heart.

In God

Psalm 56:10-11a “In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise—-in Gid I trust and am not afraid…” God tells us to place our total confidence in Him as He will NEVER fail us.  But, He doesn’t always answer my prayers—you and I say.  Perhaps we should always pray–Thy will be done and 1000% place our trust in those words.  Our human nature of fear and doubt and anxiety would disappear.  That is God’s promise.  We close this week with these words of trust–THY WILL BE DONE.  AMEN. Have a great weekend.

Another promise kept

Psalm 53:22 “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Anxiety is an unfortunate human emotion.  That emotion is conquered when we place our full confidence in our God and His love which is far beyond your and my understanding.  When we trust Him, when we give every fear we have to Him, when we believe Him with full confidence, when… anxiety is gone and comfort and perfect peace is our reward.  Thank you, God.

Calming words

Psalm 55:16 “As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.” In life and in death your and my trusting mentality is identical.  We place ourselves into our Savior’s arms.  Our problems arise when we rely on ourselves for our salvation either on this earth or for all of eternity.  Nothing could be more of a mistake.  Fear and anxiety are the result of self-reliance.  When we place our full confidence in our God nothing but good results.  That is the only way to live life!

Without a doubt

Psalm 54:4 “Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.” Would anyone be so foolish as to say or think they can do well without having a relationship with the Creator of the Universe–God?  Security, comfort, peace, outstanding love and hope are all lost with that kind of attitude.  With a mindset as expressed in this verse, true life and happiness become wholesome traits in every Christian’s life.  Thank God for this kind of life. Please pray for Marilyn as she is experiencing continued trials with cancer.  Pray for a strong faith and confidence that God absolutely has her in His arms.  Thank you.

A definition

Psalm 53:1a&b “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt and their ways are vile;..” God does not fool around with truth.  Man can debate or man can agree to disagree, but God does neither.  He always wants His children to know absolute truth and to be faithful to Him.  He wants us to be faithful, content–to live with perfect peace and enjoy security.None of that can be done if one does not know God and He wants all of us to know Him.  Then gifts galore are showered. Have a great weekend.

Trust

Psalm 52:8b “I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever.” I guess God’s love is ok and He will probably keep His promises.  Those are the words and thoughts of the majority of weak minded people.  Every Christian can be and is absolutely positive God’s love is definite, never fails and lasts forever.  Nothing, nothing gets better than that.  Our Heavenly Father insists we know that truth so we never live with doubt or fear.  Our human nature likes to insert doubt and fear; however, our God wants us to live with no fear and no doubt.  We pray for such a strong faith.

Our speech

Psalm 51:15 “Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.” How much of our conversation is of little value?  How much of our conversation is centered around our own circumstances and pleasures?  How much of our conversation praises God and tells others about him?  The percent of each area of conversation undoubtedly drops dramatically as each How much question is answered.  Our inspired Psalmist suggests the opposite and makes this thought a prayer and you and I do too.  We pray—-“Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.”

Everlasting joy

Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Nothing in this short life compares to the joy we own because our eternity brings no sadness.  Every once in a while we have a thrill on this earth because of a visit by someone we love and who loves us.  Or we go on a special vacation.  Or we have a special dinner out to celebrate a birthday or anniversary or something.  We have a glass of champaign.  But nothing can possibly give us the joy of knowing eternity in Heaven with all its glory and happiness is coming.  That joy carries us always as we take our steps on this earth.

The worst

Psalm 51:11 “Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.” The worst experience anyone could possibly have is for God to remove Himself from anyone’s life.  To be deserted by God would be disaster eternally.  Doesn’t everyone realize the seriousness of ignoring or rejecting or choosing gods other than the True God?  Many don’t is the ultra-sad truth.  Our Psalmist realizes that ultra-sad truth as should you and I.

Another piece of an earnest prayer

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Our lives are filled with continual prayers to our Heavenly Father while our God is always listening and responding.  I have never read anywhere in Scripture where God says or even slightly implies–this is too much, you want what?  His love is so great for each of us that we can even ask Him this morning–make my heart pure and, yes and, never let me fail You.  Those are 2 huge requests—are we sure we want to pray those? And then live accordingly? Have a great weekend.

How is this possible?

Psalm 51:6 “Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.” God demands our faithfulness even in the womb?  I cannot explain that!  I can explain though, from conception and on, God has a deep concern for you and me and all His children.  He wants our love and we need His.  What an absolutely unique God we cherish.
