A great prayer

Psalm 43:3a “Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me…” The concept of God as the light of the world occurs hundreds of times in the Bible.  Why?  The opposite of light is–dark–and that is exactly how one lives without light.  Light dominates Christmas.  Why?  With Jesus comes light.  That’s really what all the lights are about even though many do not realize it.  Jesus is Light. Enjoy His light. Live in the Light! Merry Christmas–Our Light comes to earth!

Always hope

Psalm 42:11b “…Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” How can you and I do anything other than praise our Savior on this magical day?  God’s love for each of us becomes evident and obvious.  Christmas, then Lent, then Easter—-No where is there greater love—Our humble recognition of our Savior’s love gives us a hope and assurance, peace and comfort.  You and I can only humbly say—THANK YOU!

True passion

Psalm 42:2 “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.  Where can I go and meet with him? We all NEED to have a close relationship with our God.  Our soul, our being, our life, our heart or what makes you uniquely you has a very deep desire to have as firm as firm gets relationship of contentedness, comfort and peace which ONLY comes from God.  Our psalmist uses the visual of a very thirsty person.  We all know the true relief of water.  God is our ultimate thirst quenching water.

Amazing!

Psalm 41:13 “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.  Amen and Amen. Our minds cannot comprehend the complete thought of this verse.  We are only capable of thinking of beginnings and endings.  We speak and hear the word forever but our minds are incapable of understanding the concept.  We have nothing to relate without time.  Yet, because God has David write it we believe even though we don’t understand.  All of God’s promises fit into the same category–we have the faith of a child listening to a parent.  God says it–we, with wisdom, knowing God, believe.

Want to be blessed?

Psalm 41:1 “Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.” At times all of us are weak.  At times all of us are strong.  There is never a time when we are too weak or too strong to live without the love and grace of our Heavenly Father.  When we are weak we pray for His strength.  When we are strong we pray for humility.  Conclusion:  Weak or strong—we need our Savior.

The Lord is great!

Psalm 40:16 “But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, ‘The Lord is great!”‘ The Lord is great!  Those are the words and your and my thought for today and always!
