Praise God

Psalm 66:8 “Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;” God certainly deserves our continual praise.  Are we faithful in that praise? None of us can say–yes.  David gives us a great reminder.  Let’s not be overwhelmed with the chores of this life and forget the purpose of life, our responsibilities in this life and the praise and honor we joyfully and faithfully give to our God.

Consistent thought

Psalm 59:17 “You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.” Our author, David, knows he cannot live without God.  He knows he must have a close relationship with Him.  And David wants the rest of the world to know this same truth applies to each of us.  Can anyone think of anytime in their life when David’s truth does not apply?  Since none of us can—let’s live accordingly.

Repeated thought for emphasis

Psalm 59:17 “You are my strength, I will sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.” Why would David repeat a thought?  Answer: Because of the importance of that thought.  The truths of this passage guide our lives–constantly guide our lives.  This thought could be repeated a million times and it wouldn’t be enough.  If that’s the truth, and it is, this passage has a huge impact thought on your and my lives. Have a great weekend.

My God

Psalm 50:9-10a “You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely…” Is there anyone or anything which can offer more security, comfort or peace than our true God?  If anyone answers ‘yes’ to that question, they live in lala land and are preparing themselves for disaster.  Our Psalmist, David, has written absolute truth.  God is David’s, your and my strength, fortress and the One we completely trust.  What if we did not know Him?  None of us want even to consider that.  We cannot be more blessed than walking with Him constantly.

Praise Him

Psalm 57:11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.” Our Psalmist, David, placed his full confidence in God because he knew God.  He did nor question the amazing magnificence of God.  His relationship with God was as close as close gets.  And he praised God because he knew Him.  Isn’t that confidence of truth the same for you and me?  Praise be to God!

Amazing!

Psalm 57:10 “For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” How can God help you and me understand the magnitude of His love for each of us?  He helps us understand through a passage such as this one.  Do we understand?  I don’t think so.  We simply can’t comprehend how God, the Creator of the Universe, the Master of all life, the Controller of everything, wants you and me to live with Him.  That is beyond our comprehension.  Yet, the truth is—His love for each of us is phenomenal-couldn’t be greater.  What a live He wants us to live!  Both now and eternally.
