Honor our Creator God

Psalm 96:9 “Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.” How much time in our day do we spend honoring God?  How much time in our day do we spend being concerned about ourselves?  Our health, our finances, our earthly relationships, our meals, our homes–just simply ourselves.  Let’s make our relationship with our Savior dominate our thinking and everything else will simply fall into place as God intends.  We will find we couldn’t live better.

God is God

Psalm 96:6 “Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.” The magnificence of God is not only impossible to describe, but also impossible to comprehend.  Does Great sufficiently describe from eternity to eternity?  Does the cross explain carrying the wrongs of everyone in the entire world?  Does rising from death describe the impossible?  You and I place our total confidence and guaranteed hope in God.  Why?  Because God is God!

MEANING VS. MEANINGLESS

Psalm 96:4-5 “For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.” How in all the world do some men and women find themselves worshipping stones or wooden figures or anything of meaningless value?  Distortions of thought can make anything a god.  False gods to a clear mind are almost comical if it weren’t for their destructive nature.  What a blessing it is to know intimately the loving Creator of the Universe.  To know Him is the greatest blessing we could possibly receive.

3 key words in 1 verse

Psalm 96:2 “Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.” What are the 3 key words God would have us know?  Every Christian enjoys expressing these 3 words constantly.  Very short verse that identifies who you and I are. Have a great weekend.

Humble respect

Psalm 95:6 “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” You and I have a direct invitation from our Psalmist and from God–Come–His hands are extended in a most loving gesture.  He says–show sincere humility–bow down and kneel.  How can we do anything else before God?  What an honor for us to have the wonderful love relationship we enjoy with our Lord.
