Acts 6:3 “Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.” In every Christian church there are faith filled and wise members. Their skills are often not used either wisely or at all and the entire ministry is placed on the pastor’s shoulders and it becomes too much for him. It is said that between 35-50 % of pastors under 45 years old quit because of stress and burnout. A church can easily change those statistics by incorporating the talents of members in the church’s work. The New Testament church recognized this fact. Have a great weekend.

Acts 5:41 “The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.” Honoring our Father is a privilege no matter how the world receives that display on our part. You and I do not act or react according to how the world reacts to our faith. Expect criticism. Expect unpopulatity. Expect rejection. Rejoce in criticism. Rejoice in unpopularity. Rejoice in unpopularity. Seems strange, but that is exactly what God is saying in this verse.

Acts 5:38b-39 “…I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men.” No one and nothing should even think of stopping or opposing God. Many, however, do and fail 100% of the time. God will always accomplish His purpose. Another wonderful thought in regard to God and His purpose—God will 100% accomplish His intended purpose in and through you as a faith filled follower of His. God will accomplish His purpose in your faith filled life. Work with Him and be blessed accomplishing your earthly purpose to His glory.

Acts 4:31b ” …And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Every Christian has the Holy Spirit living within them–that obviously includes you and me. That thought gives every Christian a boldness we could not otherwise have. That boldness is not an obnoxious egomaniac mentality. That boldness is a humble and loving desire for all men and women to come to the knowledge of God’s wonderful truth.

Acts 4:24 “When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God, ‘Sovereign Lord, they said, ‘you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.” God’s power is beyond your and my abilities to comprehend. In an extremely short period of time He created everything. Everything created is not only complete—it is intricately made while at the same time it is massively made. And to think—our Creator loves each of us dearly. There is nothing better.
