Psalm 108:1 “My heart. O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul.” The key word is steadfast. As solid as granite. As strong a foundation as is possible. Steadfastness is a gift from God to you and me. Martin Luther expressed this thought in a hymn he wrote–“A Mighty Fortress is Our God”. The words worry or fear are eliminated and calm confidence, peace and trust are the precious gifts. You and I couldn’t be more blessed. Have a great weekend.

Psalm 107:31 “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.” If you were to stretch your arms as far to the left and to the right as you possibly can you are far far too short of the love God has for you. Impossible is our word of understanding or describing the overwhelming love our Heavenly Father has for each of us. The words–thank you–on our part seems inadequate. How can we be anything but humble, faithful and appreciative children of our Father.

Psalm 107:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; and his love endures forever.” We worship a very generous God. We worship a very loving God. We worship a very good God. At the same time we acknowledge these 3 statements as true, we also live in a world of chaos, confusion and faithfulness to gods of worldly life and thinking. How can God and gods seemingly want our attention and we survive without being in a state of major confusion. This difficulty will all be removed when we enter Heaven, but until then we pray for guidance and purity of clear thought surrounded by our Good and Loving, Faithful and Wonderful True God.

Psalm 106:28 “They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods.” The true God was ignored, and lifeless, worthless, meaningless and totally bogus idols were worshipped. How can we possibly put God aside and place pleasure and worldly living in place of our God? You and I must be very careful and study our Bibles, praying continually that our faith not be affected by the foolish thinking of the world. Develop a close relationship with the one and only true God.

Psalm 106:20 “They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass.” God’s people, the Children of Israel, worshipped metal in the form of an animal. The image had zero spiritual value, yet people worshipped it. They could not be more foolishly empty. I have a pen and pencil in front of me. Those writing instruments can make interesting lines on paper. Should I worship them? Why not? How foolish can one be? The True, Glorious God, our Redeemer is right before our eyes. There is but one magnificent God. Enjoy and worship Him with all your heart, soul and mind.
