Simple thought

John 14:15 “If you love me, keep my commands.” Our Savior has made life for us quite simple.  Love loves love and love enjoys pleasing the one loved.  Jesus loves loving you.  If we enjoy that love isn’t it a simple and logical conclusion that in appreciation we obey?  So simple, yet so difficult.  We pray and thank Him for His help knowing we will do well.

Ask and believe

John 14:13-14 “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” The truth of this thought Jesus expresses sure exposes the weakness of our faith.  Our human nature constantly overrides this verse.  God is always, without fail watching out for your and my good.  We ask and He always answers according to His will and for our good.  That is faith in action and that faith dictates how we live life.  Eliminate our human nature and clothes ourselves in our God nature.

Friends converse

John 14:5-6 parts –“Thomas said to him, ‘Lord,….so how can we know the way?’  Jesus answered,’ I am the way…'” Jesus never soft pedaled, beat around the bush, dodged, hemmed and hawed–I am sure you get the point.  He, rather, spoke accurately and directly.  Thomas asked the same question each of us would ask and Jesus answered in His normal profound way.  There is no question—He is absolute.  Does your faith question Jesus’ answer or is your reply–absolutely, positively, without any doubt–I am sure you get the point. Have a great weekend.

Can’t wait

John 14:2-3 “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” It is very difficult to imagine that our Savior loves each of us so much that He is preparing a palace for each of us exclusively so He can enjoy your and my presence.  Imagine the love He wants you and me to know.  Imagine, you are His adopted child and are soon to inherit a fortune for all eternity beyond belief.  How can we be other than faithful?

Never worry

John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God, believe also in me.” Can you state any reason to worry knowing your Jesus is always walking by your side?  State just one reason.  There is not even one legitimate reason any of has.  Each of us is surrounded in the arms of our Jesus.  You and I have no reason to worry—that is the simple truth.  We all have the unique honor of living worry free lives simply because of our relationship with our Savior.  Never let anything spoil that relationship.
