Ephesians 4:22-24 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Each of us lives with 2 choices: 1. live as a child of God or 2. live like a child of the world. There is no–sometimes #1 and sometimes #2. Which am I? Which are you? Hopefully we both answer–#1.

Ephesians 4:14 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. There is but one place to find absolute truth. If you place your faith and your eternity in that pearl of truth statement, you walk on rock solid ground. God’s Word is that source and absolutely beautiful pearl of absolute truth. All other attempts of understandings are built on sand which the tide can easily, though very gently, completely destroy. The sand beaches in Naples, Florida have to be rebuilt every 5 years. New sand is brought onto the beaches from an area about 15 miles inland. This last year I watched this all happen. God’s beach never erodes. Thankfully, you and I live on God’s beautiful beach.

Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” A Christian could feel–I am great. I am a child of God. I am blessed abundantly. I will spend eternity in heaven. All the rest of you–good luck. That Christian mentality is not at all Christian. A Christian is humble and gentle and patient and shows love even as God, our Great Teacher, shows love. Never elevate yourself or the power on the elevator will fail and a crash is the only result.

Ephesians 4:1 “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” We don’t usually think that being a prisoner is a good thing. But, Paul informs us that being a prisoner is not only good, it is a fantastic blessing. To be locked together with our Heavenly Father is a treasured way to live. You and I have received a special call from our God and in that call He invites us to be His children, heirs to all the blessings He so generously provides. Enjoy your life as a prisoner!

Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” I am going to state a fault both you and I have—we think too small-way too small. We place limitations on God because of our own limitations. God has no limitations. Do we say we know that truth, yet we do not have the faith strong enough to believe it? Let God work with you in whatever it is you and He want for your life. Do not be afraid to ask for too much. Do not let your mind limit God and His blessing your life. Pray for a strong faith, wisdom, knowledge and whatever else you and God have going. Do not be shy. A happy, blessed—immeasurable blessed New Year.
