Christian freedom

I Corinthians 6:12 “‘Everything is permissible for me’–but not everything is beneficial. ‘Everything is permissible for me’–but I will not be mastered by anything.” To follow our Savior and not be bound by man made rules in regard to faith is a wonderful freedom enjoyed by every Christian.  Many religions place tradition and self made rules as laws of God.  What does God say in His Bible is always the source of His will-never man made theology.  But every Christian has to be sensitive to others so even though he has freedom, he/she is patiently willing to explain Biblical truths without enforcing church rules or tradition as God’s demands.   We have a prayer request from Nick and Wendy—-Please pray for our dear friend Bill.  He is dealing with stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer.  We believing he will be healed.  Thank you.

Entrusted servants

I Corinthians 4:1 “So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as entrusted with the secret things of God.” God entrusts (commits to you and me His truths) His faithful followers, to increase His kingdom, show tireless loyalty and to persevere throughout this earthly life.  Because we have been entrusted with telling others about Him we must study His Word and be as accurate as we are capable so our interpretation of His truth never deviates from His intended Gospel message. That is a major responsibility. Please pray for Julie and her husband.Rick—My husband and I are moving to the Phoenix Arizona area mostly for management of my husband’s neck and back pain. Prayers around our move would be appreciated.

Who you are is amazing

I Corinthians 3:16 “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” God never speaks or writes anything but truth.  His absolute truth is:  The Holy Spirit lives in you.  Try and comprehend that truth.  Would not that truth cause you and me to think, act, live and tell others of our Majestic God?  What keeps each of us from being bolder in confessing our faith?  Answer: our lack of comprehension of the majesty of our God.  We are all too shy.  We allow other’s evaluation to demote our faith.  Let us not be shy, not in an obnoxious way, but in humble pride knowing the Holy Spirit lives within us.

Plant, water, grow

I Corinthians 3:6-7 “I  planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” The growth of your faith is the result of God living within you.  We must greatly appreciate all who taught/teach us about God, His truths and all the Bible stories, but without God’s hand we would be without faith.  Therefore, you can only conclude God, the Holy Spirit lives within you and is solely responsible for your faith taking hold of your life.  Now, isn’t that the best thought you can possibly cherish for both today and the rest of your life.
