Fruit is good

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law. The words stated are the heart of every Christians thoughts, words and actions.  There is nothing more powerful than a child of God filled with the traits expressed by God through Paul.  I am sure each of would say of ourselves–we have some attitude adjustments to make–God be our Guide.

The Spirit and U

Galatians 5:16 “So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” There is not one person on this earth who escapes his/her own sinful continually nagging harmful desires.  These desires will destroy a person if there is no counter realization of the Holy Spirit and His extreme importance in one’s life.  We all, to live fruitful lives, must continually pray that the Holy Spirit dominates our lives and not our own desires.  This simple truth will fill our world with joy.

Freedom

Galatians 5:13 “You, my brothers, were called to be free.  But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature, rather, serve one another in love.” Freedom is one of the most valuable concepts a person can have.  We all love freedom.  God has showered you and me with freedom and we not only enjoy freedom, we love freedom.  When we listen to our Heavenly Father our lives are prosperous, fulfilling and enjoyable.  When we do not listen our lives become unsuccessful. unfulfilled and unenjoyable.  As Christians we strive to listen to our Heavenly Father and live blessed lives, the best lives of wonderful freedom.

What matters?

Galatians 5:6b “…The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” Have you ever taken the time to figure out what your net worth is?   If you have, was your conclusion—wow, that is too much, I have to give some away!  Probably not.  Our human nature likes bigger and better.  What about our God nature?  Have you prayed for a stronger more outgoing faith?  I am sure you have because that is what our God nature does.  Human nature and God nature–both traits of Christians–the first is temporary, the second is eternal.  Be sure to especially pray for the second.

Be sure to understand

Galatians 4:7 “So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.” God repeatedly assures you and me that we are His adopted children.  God knows the mind of man is forgetful, has a tendency to doubt, has weaknesses and needs constant encouragement and reassurances.  This passage is another which strengthens our faith and adds to every Christian’s firm foundation—you and I are heirs of the greatest fortune imaginable. Have a great weekend.

An heir inherits

Galatians 3:29 “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.” You are going to inherit the most valuable treasure known to man.  That is a promise from God Himself.  That promise, that reality, is the bedrock of your life guaranteeing a future of joy so profound there is nothing on this earth that can take that joy from any of us.  Live in peace—our inheritance is coming.
