Psalm 5:11 “But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” Every Christian has a right to be happy. A Christian has a perpetual smile and not a frown. Is a Christian at times sad, even to a point of crying? Yes, Definitely. While we live on this earth sadness is unavoidable. Yet, we always rejoice in the comfort of the peace which only comes from our personal love relationship with our God. Even in sadness our souls rejoice because nothing can interfere with our God/child wonderful love relationship. Have a great weekend.

Psalm 4:8 “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” A peaceful night’s rest is more valuable than wealth. The first gives a person security and dismisses anxiety while the second gives a strong desire for more and restlessness. So, the question is: would you rather have a peaceful mind or an anxiety for more. Pray God gives you the wisdom to make the right choice.

Psalm 4:1 “Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.” God encourages each of us to talk to Him. He promises to listen, determine what is best for each of us, and bless us as His faithful children. I cannot imagine what will happen in Heaven when we, living in perfection, will have an understanding of His will and nothing but joy will be our lives.

Psalm 3:8 “From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.” For any of us to put our hope on anything earthly is to place hope on what will inevitably fail. Nothing on this earth endures forever. Our only hope is on our Savior alone. Trust, hope and joy are triplets which are guaranteed from our Savior.

Psalm 3:5 “I lie down and sleep; I wake up again, because the Lord sustains me.” Living in the loving arms of our God is the only way to live. Nothing can be more peaceful than having a close relationship with our Heavenly Father. Whether we are awake or asleep we rest in His loving arms. How wonderful it is to be His loving, adopted child.

Psalm 3:4 “I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” When David wrote these words things were seemingly not going peacefully great in his life. We can all relate. In good times and in not so good times we do well if we place out trust in Him. Our human nature will tell us — how can we be so naive. Our God nature will tell us exactly what David wrote. Sometimes it is very hard to listen to our God nature, but God is always truthful. When we reach our home in Heaven I am sure we will truly understand. Until then we simply believe. Psalm 1:6 “For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.” To be an adopted and loved child of God or as this passage says–righteous–is beyond a wonderful blessing. Psalm 1:1p&2 “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked…but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” There comes a time in all of our lives when we leave home and determine our own course in life. We determine then the kind of life we are going to live. Is God’s instruction going to dominate our life, is our own desire going to dominate our life or should we include God at times and our own desires at times? Probably, for most of us, we fall into category 3. Probably, for most of us, we need to change and be blessed in category 1.

II Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” Life and all the blessings we receive during our lives are wonderful. When life comes to an end—and it will for all of us—what will our final thoughts be? Let’s all learn from Paul in his conversation with Timothy. He served his Savior and is about to receive the ultimate reward–his eternal crown to be enjoyed with his Savior. Let’s rejoice in earthly life and in eternal life.

II Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.” Paul gave careful instructions to Timothy that you and I should take to heart also. Always be prepared–which you can only be by studying His Word diligently; when instructing or teaching be accurate, respectful and always helpful; and do all of this with a caring heart.

II Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” You and I are created for a purpose. We are given individual and unique talents. How could either of us discover our talents and purpose if we ignore studying the Scriptures? Or is it possible God wrote the Bible because He had nothing else to do? That is far from the truth. The Bible is written so you and I can really live life and live it to the fullest. How can anyone accomplish that without knowing God and His thoughts? We want to learn all we can. Have a great weekend.

II Timothy 3:12 “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” Defending God’s truth will result in controversy. The seemingly simple topics of when life begins, the family and problem solving, what is important in this life, fame vs. humility, who is the only true God, and other similar topics are all addressed in the Bible. Why man insists on skewing the truth and defiling God is beyond foolishness. Defend your Savior always–no matter the cost.
