The Teacher

John 11:28m “…’The Teacher is here…'” Martha and Mary knew who Jesus was—The Teacher.  You and I also enjoy knowing The Teacher.  Now, the question is: Are you and I the learner?  What a privilege to be a student of The Greatest Teacher–The Son of God.

Live even in death

John 11:25-26a “Jesus said to her,’I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die…” Jesus never lied.  It is impossible for Jesus to be anything other than perfect.  When Jesus says you and I will live forever, he is only being true to character and speaking truth.  You and I should never fear death as death is our gateway to our wonderful eternity.

Dead for 4 days

John 11:17 “On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.” Dead–not sick or in a coma–dead.  Then Jesus did nothing more than speak and Lazarus came to life.  Who else has that power over life and death other than Jesus, the Son of God?  Applying that thought to your life—aren’t you so glad to be loved and cared for by that same Jesus?  That Jesus who has power over your life and who invites you to live with him forever?  Could we have a greater honor than to live with our Savior?

Comforting words of Jesus

John 10:27-28 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” Being an adopted and loved child of God gives you and me security found no where else.We all experience trials, heartaches, life’s difficulties and pains which come with simply living life, yet through all of life we rest in the comfort of resting in our Savior’s arms.  We are very greatful.

Tell us plainly

John 10:24 “The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying,’ How long will you keep us in suspense?  If are the Messiah, tell us plainly.'” Have you ever been asked the same question over and over, gotten the same answer and then asked the same question again?  That is what the Jews of Jesus’ time did and that is what the people in our time do.  Jesus is the Promised Messiah.  Jesus is our Advocate.  Jesus is our Salvation.  Jesus is God.  Jesus is–and the proof is endless.  Jesus is not the one with the deaf ears–man is! Have a great weekend.

The world’s most phenomenal truth

John 10:14-15 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” This passage has to be one of the most loving passages in Scripture.  Not only does He know each of us personally and we know Him personally, but also, He willingly died because of His great love for each of us.  There is absolutely no greater love.

Find the right gate

John 10:9 “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.  They will come in and go out, and find pasture.” A gate serves two purposes–to keep one out and to let one in.  Jesus simply says–I am the gate which invites you in–I will make your life on this earth excellent and I will make your eternal life phenomenal.  How can any of us ignore our Savior’s words of ultimate comfort?

Never see death?

John 8:51 “Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.” This verse contains the words of our Savior.  But, aren’t we all going to die?  Answer: yes and no.  For now let’s concentrate on the no.  Your and my soul exists right now and will exist for all eternity.  There is no death involved.  Our faith attests to this truth.  Live to live.  Never live to die.  Know your Savior.  Develop a strong relationship with Him because you will be dear friends with Him forever.

A sometimes thought

John 8:30 “Even as he spoke, many believed in him.” Have you ever thought, with all the chaos in this world, that there are not very many followers of Jesus?  If you thought that—you are wrong.  Even in Jesus’ time it appeared everyone was out to make His life miserable and had a strong desire to kill Him.  Yet, many believed in Him and His wonderful message of grace.  History repeats itself  and both truths are still true today.

Fw: Know the answer

Jesus could not have been clearer throughout the history of the world.  From the fall of man through 2023 He has made Himself known in crystal clear fashion.  Unfortunately, many shut their eyes and minds to our Savior’s very deep concern for the salvation of His creation.  “Who are you” may qualify as the stupidest question ever asked.  Let’s reconsider–that question IS the stupidest question ever asked. Have a great weekend.

Serious message

John 8:19b “…’you do not know me or my Father,’ Jesus replied, ‘If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”‘  Jesus was not having a frivolous conversation with opinionated thought.  He was having a conversation which determined the difference between living eternally or dying forever in torment.  You and I have to listen and are affected.  Our eternity and security is determined by the same absolute truths.  Where do you stand?  Where do I stand?
