John 13:34-35″A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love at times is difficult. Our human nature enters our minds and our defense mentality is just the opposite of love. As children of our Heavenly Father, as disciples of our Savior and as representatives of our God we are bound to love one another. We all cherish the thought of being loved by our God. It is your and my responsibility to learn from and to follow His example.

John 12:46 “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should walk in darkness.” How much simpler could Jesus express truth? If you want light–if you want truth–if you want security–if you want peace–if you want true love–believe in me and perpetually have light. What a wonderful Savior you and I worship and enjoy!

John 12:42-43 ” Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God.” Without me writing anything I am sure you see the problem–the last phrase. That phrase is a human nature flaw. Being politically correct is a human weakness which often keeps truth from being exposed. The absolute truth of Scripture should never be compromised. You and I have the responsibility of telling any and every one the truth as God has told us His truth. Only then will we hear our Father say as we enter Heaven—Well done! Human praise is very temporary and changes in an instant. God praise is constant and eternal. Have a great weekend.

John 12:37 “Even after Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him.” One would think it is impossible to not believe in God as He presents Himself throughout Scripture. Miracle after miracle, the magnificence of creation, the ultra nano scientific realizations, the massive differences created by words within 6 days, the peace, comfort and happiness enjoyed because of faith—-all are undeniable proofs of our God, yet some choose to ignore what is so obvious. How can the obvious be so not obvious? That is a real brain teaser, shrug your shoulders, shake your head, unbelievable to be answered— question.

John 12:16a “Believe in the light while you have light, so that you might become children of light…” You and I need light to live. Without light nothing on this earth would survive. That truth is applied to the truth of each of us needing to know the Light of the world for us to survive. Without Jesus our lives would be dark, purposeless and empty. With Jesus, our Light, our lives are exciting, purposeful and beneficial to others. What is your and my choice? Darkness or Light?

John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” There is nothing on this earth more rewarding than serving our Savior. With that service to our Savior comes the wonderful, unbelievable and magnificent reward of being honored by our Heavenly Father. Imagine, by serving our Savior, we are honored by our Heavenly Father! There is no greater love. That has got to make your day!

John 11:47 “Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin. ‘What are we accomplishing? they asked.'” This group of men were opposed to our Savior. Their only purpose in regard to Jesus was to destroy this miracle worker. Each of us must ask this same question—What is our purpose in regard to our Savior? Is it to be neutral toward Him, to treat Him as just another good philosopher living in a certain segment of time or to believe and tell others of His life saving truths? We all have a choice–what is yours? What is mine?

John 11:43 “When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice,’ Lazarus, come out!’ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped in strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.” It is impossible for Jesus to be any other than God. No matter how great you or I think we are, we cannot bring a person back to life who has been dead for a number of days. Well, one might say—this story is either exaggerated or simply not true. If that would be one’s conclusion, then who determines which part of the Bible is true? One would have to conclude—none. Our ONLY other alternative is: the Bible is true—all of it—Lazarus was raised from the dead—Jesus is God—You and I rest in total confidence. Have a great weekend.

John 11:40 “Then Jesus said, ‘did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?'” The story of Mary, Martha, Lazarus, the crowd-believers and unbelievers and Jesus has almost endless lessons for you and me. What is Jesus telling you and me in this one simple sentence? Coud it possibly be–every believer lives to see God’s glory as they observe life and will absolutely see His magnificence when He carries us all to Himself for all eternity? The glory of God is present both now and forever.

John 11:32 “When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, ‘Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”‘ How many times in your and my life haven’t we come to incorrect conclusions as to the will of God? Mary and Jesus were extremely close friends, as was He to Martha and Lazarus, as is He to you and me. When anything doesn’t seem to be going the way we think it should we have to keep this story in mind. God has a plan–a perfect plan for each of our lives–believe that absolute truth and be comforted always by its honest, sincere wisdom.

John 11:27 “‘Yes, Lord,’ she replied,’ I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”‘ We often criticize Martha and mistakenly forget her tremendous faith. This sentence Martha spoke and was recorded by John guarantees we will see Martha in Heaven. You and I would answer the question of our Savior identical to Martha’s answer. Everyone on earth who answers Jesus as Martha did will definitely enjoy eternity with each other in an environment which will be our gorgeous eternal Home.

John 11:25 “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'” Jesus was talking with a dear friend, Martha. He could have been talking to you. As a matter of fact, He was talking to you. He asks you and me the same question. Martha’s answer was —YES. That is the same answer you and I would give our Savior! Reread the verse—it is ultra-important to life and eternal life!
