Instruction for husbands

Ephesians 5:28 “In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.  He who loves his wife loves himself.” If husbands would keep this passage at the forefront of their relationship with their wives, divorce would be nonexistent.  No husband, no wife and no children are perfect, but when God’s Word and truths are the focal point of life, the best of life on this earth will be the result.

be unique

Ephesians 5:1-2 “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Try and comprehend this: you are a dearly loved child of God.  Because you are that child and enjoy the pleasure and thrill of being that child, which without question, you are, show that love to others.  Dwell on the thought–let it sink in.

An example to follow

Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” You and I, as Christians and disciples/children/heirs of our Heavenly Father, welcome the privilege of living our lives with our Savior as our example to follow.  Daily we are confronted with a problem involving a relationship and we must make a decision based on–what would my Savior do?   The decision/s then are based on the firmest foundation of thought. Important and strong words

Ephesians 4:22-24 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Each of us lives with 2 choices:  1. live as a child of God or 2. live like a child of the world.  There is no–sometimes #1 and sometimes #2.  Which am I?  Which are you?  Hopefully we both answer–#1.

R u ever drawn?

Ephesians 4:14 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. There is but one place to find absolute truth.  If you place your faith and your eternity in that pearl of truth statement, you walk on rock solid ground.  God’s Word is that source and absolutely beautiful pearl of absolute truth.  All other attempts of understandings are built on sand which the tide can easily, though very gently, completely destroy.  The sand beaches in Naples, Florida have to be rebuilt every 5 years.  New sand is brought onto the beaches from an area about 15 miles inland.  This last year I watched this all happen.  God’s beach never erodes.  Thankfully, you and I live on God’s beautiful beach.

Kind words; kind thoughts

Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” A Christian could feel–I am great.  I am a child of God.  I am blessed abundantly.  I will spend eternity in heaven.  All the rest of you–good luck.  That Christian mentality is not at all Christian.  A Christian is humble and gentle and patient and shows love even as God, our Great Teacher, shows love.  Never elevate yourself or the power on the elevator will fail and a crash is the only result.

R U prisoner?

Ephesians 4:1 “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” We don’t usually think that being a prisoner is a good thing.  But, Paul informs us that being a prisoner is not only good, it is a fantastic blessing.  To be locked together with our Heavenly Father is a treasured way to live.  You and I have received a special call from our God and in that call He invites us to be His children, heirs to all the blessings He so generously provides.  Enjoy your life as a prisoner! 

no limits

Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” I am going to state a fault both you and I have—we think too small-way too small.  We place limitations on God because of our own limitations.  God has no limitations.  Do we say we know that truth, yet we do not have the faith strong enough to believe it?  Let God work with you in whatever it is you and He want for your life.  Do not be afraid to ask for too much.  Do not let your mind limit God and His blessing your life.  Pray for a strong faith, wisdom, knowledge and whatever else you and God have going.  Do not be shy. A happy, blessed—immeasurable blessed New Year.

Fantastic prayer

Ephesians 3:19 “and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” The new year will bring changes— good times, sad times, opportunities, failures, successes—all the multitude of life’s life.  Above all, for every Christian, the coming year will bring a deeper, richer, cherished, wonderful and blessed relation between you and your Heavenly Father.  That is great news.  That is the news which should dominate every New Year’s party.  Can you imagine the joy of this coming year if that was the theme of life for 2022?  God, help us live that theme for this coming wonderful year!   We praise You and Thank you!

Grasp!

Ephesians 3:17b-18 “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” I have to confess:  I do not appreciate or understand or have the ability to convey the endless, infinite, ultimately faithful and outstanding meaning when God tells me He loves me.  I would like to understand and be able to explain so you understand that enormous love which passes all understanding.  If either you or I get into New Year resolutions could this understanding be one of those resolutions?  If we try very hard at developing this thought will the end of 2022 show that you and I have solved our ability problem?  Let’s live it and try to grasp it!
