Always please your Father

Psalm 104:34 “May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.” We should be serving our God and pleasing Him somewhere around 35-45 % of our lives because none of us is perfect.  That’s the way some think and live.  The problem is: 35-45 % turns into 100%.  If we don’t have on our minds and in our hearts to be humble, faithful children of our Heavenly Father every second of our lives we fail.  We thank God for our Savior/Redeemer.  Meditate–Rejoice constantly.

The life of a Christian

Psalm 194:33 “I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Our Psalmist obviously knows where his blessings come from and it is only because of the love of his God that he receives them and will someday inherit eternal life in Heaven.  How could any of us not have a joyful heart knowing that wonderful truth?

The glory of God

Psalm 104:24 “How many are your works, Lord!  In wisdom you make them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Our Psalmist continually expresses the wonders of God.  Man receives the benefits of God’s creation.  Although the earth is full of tangible gifts from God, the greatest gift from Him is the intangible gift of love. The same is true in regard to each other.  Our example couldn’t be clearer–the greatest gift of all is the gift of love. Have a great weekend.

Honor God

Psalm 104:1 “Praise the Lord, my soul.  Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.” Many people do not worship God because He is greater than their imaginations can handle.  His magnificence far surpasses their understanding.   The fact is: God is greater than our imaginations can handle and His magnificence does far surpass our understanding.  These two facts don’t mean He doesn’t exist; rather they mean He is far beyond our understanding as to His splendor.  We, therefore, can do nothing other than praise and honor Him.

Beautiful promise

Psalm 103:17 “But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—-” Though life on earth for all of us is short compared to time before we were born and short compared to eternity, the love of our God is not bound by time.  His love never fails and lasts forever.  As faithful followers it is impossible to be more blessed.  The same love God had for Noah, Abraham, David, Paul–He has for you and me.  Think about that–your name is written in the Book of Life!
